Acharya Balakrishna Highlights Swadeshi as Key to Self-Reliant India

Jaipur, Dec 2025 : Patanjali Ayurved Limited founder Acharya Balakrishna on Tuesday stressed that “Swadeshi is not merely an idea but a way of life,” asserting that India’s growing cultural influence worldwide is a direct result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s steadfast commitment to the Swadeshi movement.

Addressing the National Swadeshi Festival in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, Acharya Balakrishna highlighted the presence of artisans from across the country, from Uttar Pradesh to Tamil Nadu and Jammu and Kashmir to Himachal Pradesh. These artisans showcased their unique products, reflecting the strength, diversity, and unity inherent in Swadeshi.

He emphasised that the vision of building an “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” or self-reliant India cannot be realised without a wholehearted adoption of Swadeshi principles. He urged citizens to consciously avoid foreign-made goods in areas where advanced technology is not essential, and to resolve to support indigenous products.

“Once the market for Swadeshi goods grows, local businesses in small towns will also get a boost, thereby promoting local economies. This helps in building self-respect and fosters nation-building. Swadeshi ideology contributes to the growth of artisans and small businesses spread across villages and towns,” Acharya Balakrishna said.

He further noted that promoting Swadeshi ensures the preservation of Indian cultural values and strengthens the country’s heritage. “Where there is Swadeshi, there is self-respect. Where there is self-respect, there is a prosperous nation. To create a prosperous nation, the adoption of Swadeshi goods is essential,” he added.

Taking to his official X account, Acharya Balakrishna shared: “Today, on the occasion of the inauguration of the National Swadeshi Mahotsav 2025 at Veerbhumi Chittorgarh, coinciding with auspicious festivals like ‘Kisan Diwas’ and ‘Surya Uttarayan’, I was fortunate to participate in this great yajna of Swadeshi consciousness. Swadeshi is not merely an alternative; it is the foundation for India’s economic, cultural, and health-related self-reliance. Swadeshi is a resolve, a sentiment, a lifestyle, and our very lifebreath.”

He added that the global recognition of Indian Sanatan culture today is rooted in the continuous efforts of Prime Minister Modi to promote Swadeshi. The National Swadeshi Mahotsav, he said, serves as a key platform to spread awareness, consciousness, and the spirit of Swadeshi across the country.

“Through the tireless dedication of Swami Ramdev Ji, the Swadeshi brand of Patanjali has not only made a mark in India but also globally, symbolising the potential of Swadeshi and the path to a self-reliant India,” Acharya Balakrishna stated.

The event saw the presence of Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, Lok Sabha MP and Chittorgarh Petition Committee Chairman C. P. Joshi, and several other dignitaries who joined in celebrating and promoting the Swadeshi movement.

This festival reaffirmed Swadeshi as a critical pillar in strengthening India’s economy, culture, and indigenous entrepreneurship, inspiring citizens to embrace local products and traditions as a way forward.
