Applications Invited from Interested Coaches for Sports Talent Development Centres under ‘Mission Lakshyavedh’ Till December 31
Mumbai, December 2025 : Under the state government’s ambitious Mission Lakshyavedh scheme, Sports Talent Development Centres are being established in the Mumbai Suburban district for the sports of table tennis, wrestling, badminton, athletics, and shooting. The Mumbai Suburban District Sports Officer’s Office has appealed to interested coaches in athletics, table tennis, badminton, wrestling, and shooting—who possess NIS/Level course qualifications and the required certifications—to submit their applications by December 31, 2025.
It has also been informed that any institution willing to run such a centre within its premises should immediately contact the concerned officials.
With the objective of enabling Maharashtra’s sportspersons to achieve success at the Olympic and international levels, a three-tier sports training system is being developed across the state. Under this system, High Performance Centres are being set up at the state level, Sports Excellence Centres at the divisional level, and Sports Talent Development Centres at the district level.
At each of these centres, a limited number of 20 athletes will be selected per sport. The selected players will receive expert coaching, access to modern sports equipment, sports science facilities, medical care, insurance coverage, nutritional supplements, and support for participation in domestic competitions. The government will bear all these expenses, according to an official press release.
