Siyadevi Reservoir to Be Developed as an Eco-Tourism Centre: Adventure and Rafting Centre InauguratedLocal Employment to Get a Boost
Raipur : The scenic Siyadevi Reservoir, nestled amid picturesque natural valleys, will be developed as an eco-tourism centre. With its natural beauty, peaceful surroundings, and unique ecological structure, the Siyadevi Reservoir has emerged as an attractive tourist destination. The newly established Adventure and Rafting Centre at the Siyadevi Reservoir, located in village Naragaon of Gurur development block, was inaugurated today in the presence of Collector Mrs Divya Mishra and other distinguished guests.
Collector Mrs Mishra formally inaugurated the Adventure and Rafting Centre by cutting the ribbon. She said that the centre would not only become a new attraction on the district’s tourism map but would also create new employment opportunities for local villagers.
The development of the Siyadevi Reservoir area marks an important step towards realizing the concept of eco-tourism. The Collector appealed to local residents to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance of the tourist site. She also mentioned that proposals would be sent to the government for regional development and canal repair works.
District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Mr Sunil Chandravanshi said that the Adventure and Rafting Centre, launched with the cooperation of the district administration and the local community, is an innovative initiative aimed at promoting eco-tourism. Additional Collector Mr Chandrakant Kaushik and Mr Ajay Kishore Lakra described the initiative as a significant step towards tourism development in the district. Chairperson of Janpad Panchayat Gurur, Mrs Sunita Sanjay Sahu, emphasized the need for the overall development of the Siyadevi Reservoir area.
On this occasion, all participants also experienced bamboo rafting and enjoyed the natural beauty of the reservoir. Local public representatives, a large number of villagers, and tourists were present at the programme.
