Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal met the Union Railway Minister

Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal met Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav at Rail Bhavan during his Delhi visit. Shri Jaiswal drew the attention of the Union Railway Minister to the demands related to public facilities of Chhattisgarh. Along with this, he informed the Union Minister about the state government providing the state share for the construction of the new railway line from Chirmiri Nagpur Halt and asked to start the construction work as soon as possible.

During this, Mr. Jaiswal has demanded that Bilaspur-Chirmiri-Bilaspur train number 18257-18258, which has been running without extension for several decades, be extended to Durg Junction or Gondia Junction. At present, the people of the newly formed district Manendragarh have to face a lot of difficulties due to the lack of direct rail service to reach the capital, this train going to Durg will provide direct access to the capital. Similarly, in another demand, the Health Minister has demanded that Shahdol-Nagpur Junction-Shahdol train number 11201-11202 be operated from Chirmiri. This will provide direct transportation to a large population of the region from Katni, Jabalpur and Nagpur. Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav has assured that a positive decision will be taken on all the demands.
