Rajasthan DigiFest Comic Con Sets New Pop-Culture Milestone on Opening Day

Jaipur, January 2026 : The Comic Con, organised as part of the Rajasthan DigiFest TiE Global Summit–2026 at JECC, Sitapura, created a new chapter in pop-culture history on its very first day. Cosplay, gaming, anime, and stand-up comedy emerged as the major attractions, drawing enthusiastic crowds. Comic creators from India and abroad offered fans a rare opportunity to interact directly with the minds behind their favourite works. The cosplay showcase captivated audiences with imaginative costumes, while the gaming zone and interactive activities generated immense excitement among the youth.

The opening day of Comic Con witnessed an impressive start with the presence of two international comic book legends—Bernard Chang and Yannick Paquette. Chang is known as the co-creator of Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme and DC’s Monkey Prince, while Paquette is an Eisner-nominated and Shuster Award–winning Canadian artist, celebrated for his work on X-Men, Wolverine, Batman, Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman: Earth One, and The Incal. Both artists interacted with fans and shared insights into their creative journeys and artistic processes.

The cosplay arena showcased remarkable diversity, featuring popular characters such as Akaza from Demon Slayer, Sung Jin-Woo from Solo Leveling, and Toji Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen. Gaming icons including Ghost from Call of Duty, Stalker, Clear Sky, and Izanagi-no-Okami from Persona 5 Royal also drew major attention. Classic and pop-culture favourites like The Joker, Harry Potter, Wednesday, and Iron Man further enriched the cosplay atmosphere with vibrant creativity and fandom spirit.

The inaugural edition also spotlighted the work of 14 young local creators from Rajasthan, including Aditya Vaishnav, Abhilasha Bhartiya, Vibhuti Pandya, and Samriddhi Kavia. These artists were provided a platform by the Rising AVGC-XR and Media Association (RAMA Rajasthan). The talented creators showcased their work to an enthusiastic audience and shared stories from their creative journeys during a special panel discussion.

Comic Con is being organised alongside the state’s flagship initiative DigiFest, with support under the Rajasthan Government’s AVGC policy. Visitors had the opportunity to interact directly with artists, obtain sketches, comics, and autographs, and participate in engaging panel discussions and live sessions. These sessions explored the evolving landscape of the comic industry, the growing influence of digital platforms, and the future potential of Indian graphic novels.

The vibrant response on the first day underscored Comic Con’s role as a powerful platform celebrating creativity, storytelling, and the growing pop-culture ecosystem in Rajasthan.
