Chief Minister’s Jan Darshan: Differently-Abled Praveen Giri Goswami Receives ₹20,000 Immediate Aid for Daughter’s Marriage

Raipur, January 2026 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday provided prompt and compassionate assistance to Praveen Giri Goswami, a differently-abled resident of Mahadevghat, Raipura, during the ambitious Jan Darshan public grievance programme held at the Chief Minister’s residence office.

Taking note of Goswami’s difficult circumstances, the Chief Minister sanctioned immediate financial assistance of ₹20,000 by handing over a cheque to help meet the expenses of his daughter Phool Giri Goswami’s marriage. Expressing his gratitude, Goswami thanked Chief Minister Shri Sai from the bottom of his heart for the timely support.

Praveen Giri Goswami earns his livelihood as a priest and is the father of four daughters. He has already married off three of them, while the engagement of his youngest daughter, Phool Giri Goswami, has been completed. However, severe financial hardship had made it extremely difficult for him to arrange her marriage.

Goswami informed the Chief Minister that he is a diabetic patient and suffered a serious injury while riding a motorcycle, which resulted in severe burns to his leg. Due to complications arising from a diabetic infection, his leg eventually had to be amputated. He added that all his savings were exhausted during medical treatment, leaving him in a precarious financial condition.

With limited income generated from temple offerings, he has been struggling to manage household expenses, let alone bear the costs associated with his daughter’s wedding. The immediate assistance provided by the Chief Minister brought him much-needed relief during a time of distress.

The Jan Darshan programme aims to address public grievances with sensitivity and speed, and the prompt resolution of Praveen Giri Goswami’s case highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable sections of society through direct intervention and compassionate governance.
