Raipur: Biometrics attendance system launched in liquor shops of the state

Secretary cum Excise Commissioner Mrs. R. Sangeeta launched the biometric attendance system in the liquor shops of the state from the studios of National Informatics Center ( NIC ) in Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan. Chhattisgarh will be the first state in the country to register the attendance of employees in liquor shops through the bio-metrics system.

Through virtual medium, officers of all 33 districts of Chhattisgarh state and employees working in liquor shops were connected to the NIC studios of the Ministry. During the program, Secretary, Excise discussed about Aadhaar enabled bio-metrics attendance system with excise officers of district Bilaspur, Raipur, Mungeli, Kondagaon, Raigarh, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, Kabirdham, Narayanpur and employees posted in selected shops. Employees of liquor shops of all districts connected to the Ministry gave their attendance through the newly established system. Departmental officers of the district were appreciated for establishing this system in Raigarh district. On one hand, irregularities in liquor shops can be controlled by taking attendance through bio-metrics, as well as it will be beneficial for the working employees. The person who has been appointed for a liquor shop will be able to work at the same shop. Attendance time can be followed. The availability of the appointed person in the liquor shop will be ensured and action can be taken by fixing responsibility in case of any irregularity. By taking attendance of each employee through the above process, daily information about him will be available online, due to which work like preparing salary, determining overtime time, calculation of leave days etc. can be done quickly. In the same sequence, it will be easy to calculate the amount of EPF, ESIC. This type of calculation will reduce the time taken for salary and it will be possible to pay the entire amount due to the employees on time.

It is noteworthy that all the Indian and foreign liquor shops of the state are being operated by the state government’s public sector undertaking ‘Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation’. To improve the operation of liquor shops in the state, innovations like providing uniforms to the employees working in liquor shops, providing photo ID cards, paying the prescribed rate for working overtime, providing liquor as per demand in shops etc. have been done.

A major reform in the series of reforms is the launch of Aadhaar enabled bio-metrics attendance system. From today, the attendance of employees working in all liquor shops in the state will be taken through bio-metrics. In this method, the attendance of employees will be taken through mobile app using the latitude and longitude of all the liquor shops in the state. The attendance of all the employees will be recorded by identifying their faces through the prepared app. For this, the work of ‘Aadhaar’ based face recognition registration of all the employees working in the liquor shops of the state has been completed. A total of 5738 employees are working in 672 liquor shops of the state, who will directly benefit from this facility and it will also be possible for the department to have proper control of the liquor shops.
During the program, Managing Director, Chhattisgarh State Beverages Corporation and Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation Limited Shri Shyam Lal Dhavade, Special Secretary Excise Shri Devendra Bhardwaj, senior officers of National Informatics Center ( NIC ) Shri T.N. Singh and Shri Shishir Raijada and senior officers of Excise Department were present.
