Sagun Baug Founder Chandrashekhar Bhadsavle Invited to Rashtrapati Bhavan for Outstanding Contribution to Agriculture
New Delhi, Jan 2026 : On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India, around 250 distinguished individuals from across the country have been invited by Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu to a special “At Home” reception to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. These invitations have been extended to individuals who have made remarkable contributions in diverse fields.

Among the invitees is Chandrashekhar Hari Bhadsavle, founder of Maharashtra-based ‘Sagun Baug’ and a recipient of the Krushi Ratna title. He has been specially invited in recognition of his decades-long dedicated efforts and significant achievements in agriculture, natural farming, zero-tillage techniques, water conservation, agri-tourism, and rural development.
Mr. Bhadsavle has been engaged in farming since 1976. Over the years, he has developed Sagun Baug (located at Neral in Raigad district) into a model of integrated farming that combines agriculture, fisheries, agroforestry, horticulture, cattle rearing, and tourism. Today, Sagun Baug has become a centre of learning and inspiration for farmers, students, and tourists from across the country. His work has played a major role in restoring dignity and self-confidence among farmers.
The “At Home” reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan is a prestigious event held after the main Republic Day समारोह, where distinguished guests from various fields are invited. This year, the event will place special focus on the handicrafts and cultural heritage of North-East India, popularly referred to as the ‘Ashta Lakshmi’ states.
