Breed Improvement and Increased Milk Production through Artificial Insemination

Artificial insemination makes Gaurang Pal’s dairy a source of inspiration

Raipur, January 2026 : Under the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhanya Agriculture Scheme, efforts to strengthen livestock development in Dantewada district through scientific and modern techniques are yielding continuous success. A notable example of this is the remarkable achievement of livestock farmer Shri Gaurang Pal (son of Shri Govind Pal) from Bengali Camp, Bhansi, whose success has become an inspiring model for the region.

By availing the artificial insemination facility provided by the Livestock Development Department, Dantewada, Shri Gaurang Pal has given a new direction to his dairy enterprise. Through the use of modern techniques, nine healthy calves have been born so far, leading to significant improvement in animal breeds and a clear increase in milk production capacity. At present, his dairy produces around 100 litres of milk per day, which he sells at the rate of ₹70 per litre, earning a steady and satisfactory income. This has further strengthened the financial condition of his family.

On January 10, 2026, artificial insemination was carried out in his cattle by the department using the heat synchronization technique. This method ensured timely and effective breeding in animals, making dairy operations more scientific, well-organized, and productive.

The success of Shri Gaurang Pal sends an inspiring message to other livestock farmers in Dantewada district that proper utilization of government schemes and adoption of scientific techniques can transform animal husbandry into a strong and sustainable livelihood model. The initiatives under the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhanya Agriculture Scheme and the Livestock Development Department have increased confidence among livestock farmers and played a significant role in making animal husbandry an effective means of economic empowerment in the district.
