Grand Conclusion of Moradhvaj Arang Festival 2026; Chief Minister Announces Key Development Initiatives
Raipur, Jan 2026: The Moradhvaj Arang Festival–2026, dedicated to the legacy of King Moradhvaj’s sacrifice, righteousness, and steadfastness, concluded with historic grandeur and ceremonial splendor. Addressing the large gathering, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that King Moradhvaj’s life symbolizes the cultural consciousness and moral values of Chhattisgarh, inspiring society even today to follow the path of truth and duty.
Shri Sai highlighted that Arang is a sacred land, sanctified by the footsteps of Lord Shri Ram in the Treta Yuga and enriched by memories of Lord Shri Krishna in the Dwapar Yuga. He performed a ceremonial Jalabhishek and prayers at Bageshwar Baba, invoking blessings for the state’s prosperity, peace, and sustainable development.

During the event, the Chief Minister announced several key initiatives aimed at accelerating the region’s holistic development. He declared that Samoda Sub-Tehsil will be upgraded to a full Tehsil, along with the posting of a full-time Tehsildar. The government grant for the Moradhvaj Festival was increased from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh. He also assured the prompt completion of other proposed infrastructure projects in the area, including the upcoming sports complex.
Shri Sai emphasized that the state government is working in line with “Modi’s Guarantee,” prioritizing public welfare. Education, health, roads, employment, and preservation of cultural heritage are the core of the government’s development policy. He underscored that sensitive governance, quick decision-making, and direct engagement with the people define the government’s identity.
The Chief Minister also honored sand artist Shri Hemchand Sahu for creating divine figures of Lord Shri Krishna, Lord Shri Ram, and Lord Bageshwarnath from sand. Praising the artist’s creativity and dedication, Shri Sai said that such exemplary art not only strengthens faith and cultural heritage but also brings national recognition to Chhattisgarh. He wished the artist continued success in promoting the state’s name through his art.
The festival’s closing ceremony witnessed large participation from public representatives, saints, women leaders, youth, and numerous citizens, adding to the event’s historical significance. The Chief Minister congratulated the organizing committee for the successful and grand event and extended heartfelt greetings to the people of the state on the conclusion of the Moradhvaj Festival.
