At the World Economic Forum–2026 in Davos, Principal Secretary, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Raghavendra Kumar Singh, held discussions on potential collaboration in AI-based protein innovation with Dr. Jasmine Hume, Founder and CEO of Shiru.
The discussions focused in detail on advanced protein innovation, agriculture-based inputs and applied research. During the meeting, Shiru presented an overview of its AI-driven protein discovery and design platform, through which high-quality, ready-to-use protein ingredients are developed for industrial applications. The company informed that approximately 77% of its portfolio comprises natural proteins. It also highlighted its strong capabilities in technology licensing and a capital-efficient, globally scalable production model.
Dr. Hume shared insights on the application of these innovations primarily in the food sector, while also highlighting their potential use in the cosmetics and health sectors. Interest in the Agriculture Sector
During the interaction, Shiru expressed keen interest in Madhya Pradesh’s strong agricultural ecosystem. Both sides discussed collaboration with universities and agricultural research institutions, identification of crop-based protein input opportunities, and developing the state as a hub for applied research, pilot projects and future production facilities.
As part of the forward roadmap, the two sides agreed to identify suitable universities and agricultural research institutions in the state, assess crop availability and suitability, review pilot and contract manufacturing opportunities, and hold follow-up meetings to explore commercial and research partnerships.
This initiative reflects Madhya Pradesh’s continued efforts to attract innovation-led investments and strengthen its role in the agri-food and life sciences sectors.
