Lucknow, January 2026 : Under the leadership and guidance of Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh, the Basic Education Department is continuously taking concrete steps toward achieving the goals of the NIPUN Bharat Mission in a time-bound manner and giving education the form of a mass movement. In this sequence, ‘Shiksha Chaupal’ will be organized in all Nyaya Panchayats of the state on 24 January 2026, on the occasion of UP Day.
The objective of this initiative is to strengthen children’s foundational language and mathematical competencies by connecting parents, School Management Committees (SMC), teachers, and the local community with the objectives of the NIPUN Bharat Mission.
The state’s Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh said that the NIPUN Bharat Mission is not only an educational program but also the foundation of children’s bright future. Through Shiksha Chaupal, by ensuring the participation of parents and society, we are conveying the message that children’s education is not only the responsibility of the school, but of the entire society.
Through Shiksha Chaupal, special emphasis will be placed on the effective operation of Balvatika, children’s enrollment and regular attendance, and the long-term importance of education. Information will also be shared at the Chaupal about teaching materials provided to schools, print-rich material, math kits, functional libraries, sports materials, as well as digital resources such as smart classes, ICT labs, DIKSHA, Khan Academy, and the Teachers App.
During Shiksha Chaupal, teachers who have done excellent work, schools that have made remarkable improvements in enrollment and attendance, and meritorious children will be honored. Along with this, gratitude will also be expressed for the contributions of parents and SMC members. Public representatives, administrative officers, intellectuals, and media representatives will also be invited to the program.
For the organization of Shiksha Chaupal, a budget of Rs 10,000 per Nyaya Panchayat has been approved. This amount will be spent on arrangements such as tents, chairs, sound systems, banners, refreshments, stationery, photography, and videography, etc. Uploading the details of expenditure on the management portal within the prescribed time limit will be mandatory. District- and division-level officers will carry out continuous monitoring of the program.
Director General of School Education Monika Rani said that Shiksha Chaupal is an effective platform where teachers, parents, and the community sit together and understand children’s learning process. This will improve educational quality and accelerate the goals of the NIPUN Bharat Mission.
