Davos/Ranchi, Jan 2026 : On the second day of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026, Jharkhand reinforced its proactive engagement in global discussions on energy transition, sustainable growth, and regional development. Represented by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, the State actively interacted with international policymakers, investors, and global institutions, positioning itself as a key participant in shaping future-ready economic strategies.

A major highlight of the day was the Chief Minister’s address at the Inter-Ministerial Dialogue at WEF 2026, where he spoke alongside Mr. Vazil Hudák, former Minister of Finance and Minister of Economy of Slovakia, and other global leaders. The dialogue focused on frameworks for sustainable and inclusive economic growth, promoting collaboration across nations and regions. Following the address, a detailed interactive session explored renewable energy development, heavy vehicle manufacturing opportunities, and the adoption of sustainability practices in horticulture, creating a platform for mutual exchange and potential partnerships.

Shri Hemant Soren also contributed to a high-level panel discussion titled “Capital in Action: Scaling Energy Systems Through Policy, Finance & Regional Leadership.” The session examined how effective policy alignment, innovative financing mechanisms, and proactive sub-national leadership can accelerate the deployment of clean energy systems while fostering resilient economic models. During his participation, the Chief Minister highlighted the crucial role of state-led initiatives in translating global climate and sustainability commitments into actionable outcomes.

He elaborated on Jharkhand’s ongoing efforts to align industrial growth with environmental responsibility, emphasizing strategies that generate employment, strengthen regional economic resilience, and promote sustainable industrialization. The Chief Minister stressed that balancing economic development with ecological stewardship is central to the State’s vision for long-term prosperity.

Jharkhand’s engagements on Day 2 of WEF 2026 underscore the State’s growing presence in global conversations on clean energy, sustainable industrialization, and cooperative growth models. By participating in ministerial dialogues, expert panels, and policy forums, Jharkhand is demonstrating its commitment to a balanced, future-ready, and sustainable development trajectory. These interactions are not only reinforcing the State’s strategic international partnerships but also setting a blueprint for inclusive growth and climate-conscious industrialization in the region.

Through its active role at WEF 2026, Jharkhand is emerging as a model for regional leadership in clean energy adoption and sustainable economic development.
