Salhebhat Gram Panchayat Represents Chhattisgarh in the Third Phase of Sujal Gram SamvadJal Jeevan Mission

Raipur, January 2026 : Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, Gram Panchayat Salhebhat of Kondagaon district represented the state of Chhattisgarh in the third phase of the Sujal Gram Samvad, organized by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.

The dialogue was conducted through video conferencing, with participation from representatives of Chhattisgarh along with Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, and Lakshadweep.

During the programme, the Mission Director of the National Jal Jeevan Mission interacted with the representatives of Gram Panchayat Salhebhat on various aspects, including the availability of drinking water, positive changes in the lives of villagers due to the Jal Jeevan Mission, and the process of water testing and sample examination through FTKs by water committees. Detailed discussions were also held on fixation of monthly user charges for drinking water, as well as the arrangements for operation and maintenance of the scheme at the village level.

On this occasion, Collector, Kondagaon, Ms. Nupur Rashi Panna, shared information on the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district through video conferencing from the district office. She also expressed commitment to completing the water service assessment and Jal Arpan Diwas within the stipulated timeline.

At the conclusion of the programme, an action plan prepared by JARENA/GRAMG for the conservation and augmentation of drinking water sources was presented. Meanwhile, Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, Government of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Jitendra Shukla, apprised participants of the overall progress of the scheme at the state level.
