Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Extend Independence Day Greetings at ‘At Home’ Program in Nadiad
Gandhinagar : On the eve of the 78th Independence Day celebrations in Nadiad, Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel met with distinguished people and exchanged greetings at the ‘At Home’ ceremony.
The ‘At Home’ program, held at BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Nadiad, commenced with a drum roll from the police band to welcome Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and Chief of Police Shri Vikas Sahay welcomed the Governor. The ceremony featured the national anthem and patriotic songs performed by students from SNV International School. During the event, Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel had the privilege of meeting 102-year-old freedom fighter Shri Kesrisinh Parmar and inquiring about his well-being. In his address, the Governor emphasized that the nation’s greatness hinges on our commitment to fulfilling our duties. He mentioned that realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat can only be achieved through our dedicated adherence to our responsibilities.
The Governor asserted that, following the sacrifice of countless warriors, our freedom has been achieved, and it is our shared duty to safeguard it for future generations. Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat emphasized that through our unwavering dedication to our responsibilities, we can help realize Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat. The Governor highlighted the historic importance of Nadiad, noting that the Charotar region, including Kheda district, was at the forefront of the freedom struggle. This land has gifted the nation with renowned scholars, saints, and freedom fighters. He recalled that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a pivotal figure in uniting the country, was from this region and paid tribute to other notable figures like Ravi Shankar Maharaj, Babalbhai Mehta, and Indulal Yagnik. He encouraged citizens to plant as many trees as possible, emphasizing that environmental challenges such as water and air quality can be addressed through the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign initiated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Expressing concern about the increasing toxicity of food items due to the adverse effects of chemical fertilizers, the Governor emphasized that natural agriculture is the only viable solution. He commended Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for prioritizing natural agriculture in the budget and launching it as a national campaign.
On this occasion, Kheda MP Shri Devusinh Chauhan, MLAs Shri Pankaj Desai, Shri Rajesh Jhala, Shri Arjunsinh Chauhan, Shri Yogendrasinh Parmar, Shri Kalpesh Parmar, Shri Sanjaysinh Mahida, Nadiad Municipality President Smt. Kinnari Shah, Taluka Panchayat President Smt. Megha Patel, In-charge Secretary Shri R.C. Meena, Senior Officers, District Collector Shri Amit Prakash Yadav, District Development Officer Shri S.D. Vasava and other leaders were present.
