Amaravati, Aug 2026 : The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a major recruitment drive for unemployed youth across the State, unveiling the “Job Calendar-2026” to fill 10,060 vacancies in various government departments.
Principal Secretary of the Finance Department Piyush Kumar issued Government Order No. 81 on August 22, 2026, detailing the recruitment programme. The appointments will be undertaken in four phases through agencies including the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), Andhra Pradesh State Level Police Recruitment Board (APSLPRB) and District Selection Committees (DSCs).
The Cabinet approved the recruitment plan with a focus on strengthening key sectors such as infrastructure, education, welfare and law and order. The initiative has been aligned with the broader development vision of “Swarna Andhra@2047.”
Four-phase recruitment drive
According to the government order, the first phase will cover 1,523 posts, for which the Higher Education Department had already issued a notification on May 15, 2026.
The second phase will involve 3,231 posts, with notifications scheduled to be issued on September 15. The third and fourth phases will comprise 2,311 and 2,995 posts, respectively, with notifications for both phases scheduled for October 15.
The second phase includes 149 Group-1 posts, comprising 11 Deputy Collectors, 36 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 14 Assistant Commissioners (ST), 12 Municipal Commissioners Grade-II, 35 Divisional Development Officers and 10 Deputy Registrars in the Cooperation Department.
A major portion of the remaining 3,082 vacancies in the second phase is in the police and allied departments. These include 182 Civil Sub-Inspectors, 116 Armed Reserve SIs, 542 Civil Constables, 205 AR Constables, 200 Communication Constables, 71 APSP SIs and 80 APSP Constables.
Other positions include 164 Veterinary Assistant Surgeons, 196 Assistant Statistical Officers, 158 Firemen, 171 Jail Warders, 45 Horticulture Officers and 104 Executive Officer Grade-III posts in the Endowments Department.
Group-2 and engineering vacancies
The third phase will cover 2,311 vacancies, including 673 Group-2 posts. These include 200 Deputy Tahsildars, 176 Deputy Mandal Parishad Development Officers, 40 GST Officers, 25 Prohibition and Excise Sub-Inspectors and seven Sub-Registrars Grade-II, besides Assistant Section Officers and Accountants.
The phase will also include a substantial number of engineering positions. A total of 428 Assistant Executive Engineer posts will be filled across departments, including 224 in Irrigation, 100 in Panchayat Raj, 73 in Rural Water Supply and 75 in Roads and Buildings.
The power sector will account for another 629 AEE vacancies, comprising 200 posts in AP Transco, 100 in AP Genco and 329 in DISCOMs.
Other vacancies in the third phase include 400 Prohibition and Excise Constables and 50 Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors.
Mega DSC for teachers
The fourth phase, involving 2,995 posts, will largely focus on teacher recruitment through a Mega District Selection Committee (DSC).
The School Education Department will recruit 2,991 teachers and related personnel, including Secondary Grade Teachers, School Assistants, Instructors and District Education Officer-level posts. Subject-wise vacancies will be specified in the respective DSC notification.
Four Assistant Director posts will also be filled under the Adult Education Department.
The government order directs all concerned departments to immediately provide vacancy details, roster points and eligibility criteria to the respective recruiting agencies.
The recruitment process will have to comply with the Presidential Order, reservation policies and applicable service rules. The government has also stressed the need for transparency and adherence to prescribed procedures.
The large-scale recruitment programme is expected to provide fresh opportunities to thousands of candidates preparing for government examinations and has generated considerable expectations among unemployed youth across Andhra Pradesh.
