BRS to Launch Week-Long Campaign Against Congress Government’s ‘Failures’

Hyderabad, Aug 2026 : The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will launch a week-long campaign across Telangana from September 2 to highlight what it calls the Congress government’s failure to fulfil its electoral promises and address the concerns of various sections of society.

The campaign will coincide with the Congress government completing 1,000 days in office. The BRS plans to organise a series of programmes across the state, focusing on issues ranging from pending financial assistance and fee reimbursement to employment, agriculture and welfare measures.

BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR, called upon party leaders and workers to work together to take what he described as the government’s failures to every section of the population.

KTR alleged that the Congress had come to power after making 420 promises, 13 declarations and six guarantees, with assurances that they would be implemented within 100 days. However, he claimed that even after 1,000 days, the government had failed to completely implement even one of its major commitments.

The BRS leader further alleged that people across Telangana were dissatisfied with the Congress government because of what he described as administrative failures, corruption and poor governance. He directed party workers to explain these issues to the public and highlight problems that have emerged since the Congress assumed power.

KTR said the campaign should go beyond simply listing the promises made by the Congress during the elections. Instead, programmes should focus on the current problems being faced by different sections of society and the commitments that, according to the BRS, remain unfulfilled.

The party plans to revive the use of “Baaki Cards”, which will highlight pending commitments and financial assistance allegedly promised to various groups. KTR said these cards should clearly communicate the amounts that have accumulated as unpaid assistance for agricultural labourers, senior citizens, women, students and youth.

He accused the Congress government of failing to meet expectations among farmers, women and other sections of society. The BRS also plans to highlight what it claims are more than Rs 12,000 crore in pending fee reimbursement dues. KTR called on party workers to take up the issue across colleges and explain its impact on students and their families.

Employment is another major issue the BRS intends to focus on. KTR alleged that the government had failed to provide adequate jobs to young people despite its electoral commitments.

He instructed the party to organise separate programmes targeting communities and groups that had received specific promises from the Congress. These would include auto-rickshaw drivers, women, farmers, tribal communities, Dalits, Backward Classes, government employees and retired employees.

KTR emphasised that the campaign should not follow a standard format across Telangana. Instead, programmes should be designed according to the specific concerns of each community and presented in a manner that people can easily understand.

He also urged the party to make extensive use of social media to communicate its message, particularly among younger voters. According to KTR, innovative digital campaigns and new communication formats should be developed to ensure that the BRS’s allegations against the Congress government reach a wider audience.

The BRS Working President called upon party MPs, MLAs and MLCs, as well as general secretaries, constituency in-charges, former elected representatives, former corporation chairpersons and former Zilla Parishad chairpersons to participate actively in the week-long campaign.

The party leadership has asked its entire organisational network to mobilise for the September 2 programme and subsequent activities, with the stated objective of taking its assessment of the Congress government’s 1,000-day tenure directly to people across Telangana.
