Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of six development projects worth Rs. 237.23 crore at Sarahan in Pachhad Assembly constituency of Sirmaur district during his one-day visit to the area.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the Rs. 26.51 crore Lift Water Supply Scheme (LWSS) to various villages in Narag Nohra, Dilman, Saria, Mehlog Lal Tiker, Daron Deoria Drabali, Sarol Chameji, Wasni and Naina Tikker from the Giri river in tehsil Pachhad. He also inaugurated the Rs. 1.57 crore Water Supply Scheme to habitations of Gram Panchayat Chhog Tali and Sanio Deedag in tehsil Rajgarh, Rs. 1.25 crore Lift Irrigation Scheme (LIS) for village Dhanach Chukhrial and adjoining villages in Gram Panchayat Shaya Sanora, tehsil Rajgarh, Rs. 1.52 crore LIS for village Maloh Mashog and adjoining villages under Jal Shakti Sub-Division Chandol, tehsil Rajgarh, and Rs. 2.86 crore Water Supply Scheme for various villages under Gram Panchayats Bani-Bakholi, Surla-Janot and Sadhana-Ghat in tehsil Pachhad.
He also laid the foundation stone of Rs. 203.52 crore Chhailla-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti road.
He said that these development projects would significantly strengthen basic infrastructure and improve the delivery of essential public services to the people of the area.
Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that Chhailla-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti road will provide a reliable and improved transportation route for apple growers, enabling them to transport their produce from orchards to markets and collection centres in a faster and more convenient manner. He said that this will help in reducing transportation time and post-harvest losses, while facilitating better access to major markets for horticultural produce. He said that this alternate connectivity will help ensure smoother movement of vehicles and strengthen the overall road network of the area.
