CM Dhami Conducts Aerial Survey and Ground Inspection of Hailstorm-Hit Farms in Bajpur, Assures Farmers of Assistance

Dehradun, Oct 2026 : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday conducted an aerial survey and ground inspection of areas affected by a severe hailstorm in the Bajpur region to assess the damage caused to agricultural crops. He met affected farmers, heard their concerns and assured them of all possible assistance from the state government.

The severe hailstorm struck the Bajpur area at around noon, causing damage to standing crops and affecting farmers. Dhami was returning to Dehradun from Haldwani when he received information about the hailstorm and the resulting agricultural losses.

Despite adverse weather conditions, the Chief Minister directed the pilot to divert the helicopter towards Bajpur to assess the situation and meet the affected farmers.

Soon after the hailstorm, Dhami conducted an aerial survey of the affected areas to obtain a preliminary assessment of the damage. He subsequently landed in Bajpur and inspected the affected agricultural fields on the ground.

During his visit, the Chief Minister interacted directly with farmers to understand the extent of crop damage, their difficulties and the challenges they were facing following the sudden weather event. He assured them that the government would extend all possible support to help them deal with the losses.

Dhami also instructed officials present at the site to prioritise a detailed survey of the hailstorm-affected crops and complete the assessment of losses at the earliest.

He emphasised that all necessary steps must be taken within a stipulated timeframe to ensure that affected farmers receive relief in accordance with applicable rules and provisions.

The Chief Minister said the state government stood firmly with farmers during this natural calamity and would act with sensitivity to address their concerns.

“Protecting the interests of farmers and providing them with every possible assistance is a priority for the government,” he said, reiterating the administration’s commitment to supporting those affected by the hailstorm.

Dhami further directed officials to ensure that farmers did not face unnecessary delays in getting their grievances addressed. He stressed that the entire process, from assessing crop losses to initiating relief measures, must be carried out promptly and with due sensitivity.

The Chief Minister called for close monitoring of the assessment process so that the damage could be documented accurately and eligible farmers could receive assistance in a timely manner.

His visit came shortly after the sudden hailstorm, as the state government moved to assess the impact on agricultural land and determine the assistance required by affected farmers.

The administration has been directed to complete the necessary assessments and take time-bound action to provide relief in accordance with the applicable provisions.
