Visits Jagadish Marine Exports and Maurya Aquex Facilities

Study of Modern Technologies for Producing Export-Quality Marine Products

Mumbai, October 2026 : With the objective of strengthening Maharashtra’s seafood processing industry and promoting value-added, export-oriented products, State Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane inspected the shrimp processing facilities of Jagadish Marine Exports and Maurya Aquex at Rayalam-Bhimavaram in West Godavari district. He reviewed international quality standards, modern processing technologies, cold-chain facilities and export management systems.

As part of a fisheries study tour, Minister Rane gathered information about large-scale shrimp processing, the production of export-quality products and value addition in seafood. He also inspected the modern technologies used for handling raw materials, grading, peeling and cleaning shrimp, and maintaining product quality.

He learnt about the Individual Quick Freezing (IQF) and block-freezing technologies used for freezing shrimp, as well as the processes involved in producing cooked and blanched products. He also reviewed cold-chain management, quality control and compliance with food safety regulations. In addition, he examined the quality standards and product safety procedures required for exporting seafood to international markets.

The visit provided valuable insights into modern processing facilities, product diversification, product traceability systems and post-harvest management. This experience could be used to enhance the capacity of Maharashtra’s seafood processing industry.

Modern technology will be useful in adding value to shrimp and other marine products, developing export-oriented products and improving Maharashtra’s competitiveness in global markets.

According to the department, the expansion of processing industries could create greater market opportunities for fishermen, generate employment and boost exports of fisheries products.
