Lucknow, August 2026 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to provide a destitute cow to a woman from Sitapur who expressed her desire to become self-reliant through cow rearing and also ordered an inquiry into a complaint of illegal occupation of land belonging to a person with disabilities.
The directions were issued during the Chief Minister’s ‘Janata Darshan’, where he met people individually, heard their grievances and instructed officials to ensure their timely resolution.
Woman Seeks Support to Become Self-Reliant Through Cow Rearing
Poonam Devi, a resident of Gurudev Nagar in Hargaon, Sitapur, met the Chief Minister and expressed her desire to take up cow rearing as a means of becoming financially self-reliant.
In her application, Poonam said she currently has five cows and sufficient space to accommodate more cattle. She requested additional cows so that she could sell milk and other dairy products and improve her family’s financial condition.
Taking immediate note of her request, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the Additional Chief Secretary (Animal Husbandry) to arrange a destitute cow for her and ensure that she receives the benefits available under government schemes.
He also directed officials to provide her financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Sahbhagita Yojana for the care and maintenance of cattle, as per the applicable rules.
‘Serve Cows With Dedication, Difficulties Will Go Away’
The Chief Minister encouraged Poonam to pursue her goal with dedication and assured her that the government would extend all possible assistance under the prescribed schemes.
He advised her to continue serving and caring for cows with sincerity, saying that such service would help her overcome difficulties and hardships.
Poonam expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister for considering her request and helping her fulfil her wish during the holy month of Shravan.
CM Orders Probe Into Illegal Land Occupation
During the same public grievance hearing, a person with disabilities approached the Chief Minister with a complaint that his land had allegedly been illegally occupied.
Taking the complaint seriously, Yogi Adityanath directed officials to conduct an inquiry into the matter and take appropriate action to resolve the grievance while providing all possible assistance to the affected person.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to ensure the time-bound resolution of grievances raised by people who had arrived from different districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Through the Janata Darshan programme, the Chief Minister reiterated the government’s focus on directly addressing citizens’ concerns and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of welfare schemes without unnecessary delays.
