Addressing a press conference (PC) today, Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta informed that the Delhi Government has extended the LPSC (Late Payment Surcharge) Waiver Scheme. She said that under the scheme, payments amounting to ₹743 crore have been deposited with the Government so far. The scheme has benefited 5,15,000 domestic consumers and 15,796 commercial consumers.
The Chief Minister said that the extension of the LPSC Waiver Scheme is a major relief for the people of Delhi and will provide more consumers an opportunity to resolve their pending water bill dues.
She further informed that the Regularisation Scheme for Unauthorised Water Connections has also been extended till 31 March 2027. Under this scheme, 3,544 unauthorised connections have already been regularised. The Chief Minister appealed to Delhi residents to avail the benefit of the scheme by depositing just ₹1,000 and get their unauthorised connections regularised.
The Chief Minister said that the Delhi Government is also working towards improving the water metering system and making it more accountable, ensuring that consumers receive timely and genuine bills, while strengthening the delivery of water supply services to every household.
