Delhi government’s aim is to take better facilities to every street, colony and every citizen: CM Rekha Gupta
New Delhi, September 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Sunday inaugurated several important development projects and launched construction works in the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency. The projects will further strengthen sanitation arrangements, beautify parks and improve road connectivity in the area. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said the Delhi government’s aim was not to limit development to large projects, but to provide better facilities to every street, every colony and every citizen.
Taking an important step in the education sector, the Chief Minister inaugurated the construction of the school building in BB Block, Shalimar Bagh. This will give further impetus to the development of better educational facilities for students in the area. At the same time, work was launched in AF Block to replace the open overhead conductor with underground cables, making the electricity system safer and more organised. In addition, work was launched to replace the open overhead conductor on the main road of C&D Block in Shalimar Bagh with underground cables. The Chief Minister also launched the construction of a new road from Shri Guru Gobind Singh College in Pitampura to Ring Road. The road, being built at an estimated cost of around Rs 2.84 crore, will improve connectivity in the area and make commuting more convenient for residents. She also inaugurated a newly constructed toilet block at Nehru Camp in Haiderpur. In addition, she inaugurated a modern compactor at the SP-TP Block in Pitampura. The initiative will help make sanitation arrangements in the area more effective by strengthening modern waste management systems. The Chief Minister also inaugurated beautification and development works in three parks in YP Block and 10 parks in WP Block. These works focus on providing local residents with better, cleaner and more beautiful green spaces.
On the occasion, CM Rekha Gupta said the Delhi government’s aim was not to limit development to large projects, but to provide better facilities to every street, every colony and every citizen.
