Ranchi, Aug 2026 : Jharkhand student leader Devendra Nath Mahto will launch a statewide campaign on Monday demanding reforms in the state’s recruitment system, under the slogan “24 Districts, 24 Resolutions, One Voice.”
Mahto announced the initiative through a post on X, saying the campaign would highlight concerns of job aspirants and press for greater transparency, accountability and fairness in government recruitment.
The second phase of the “JPSC-JSSC Corruption-Free Recruitment Campaign” will begin from Nemra in Ramgarh district, the ancestral village of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren. The “Recruitment System Reform Yatra” will be launched from Lukaiya Tand in Nemra.
According to Mahto, the campaign will seek to build public support for a transparent and corruption-free recruitment process in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
The launch programme will follow traditional Jharkhand customs and practices. It will include rituals conducted in the presence of senior pahans, followed by the national anthem accompanied by the beats of the madar. The programme will also feature tributes to prominent leaders and the planting of a sal sapling.
Mahto said the yatra would focus on creating awareness among young people and recruitment aspirants about issues surrounding examination and selection procedures. It will also seek to strengthen public pressure for reforms aimed at ensuring greater transparency and accountability.
Beginning in Ramgarh, the yatra will travel through all 24 districts of Jharkhand. Its route will cover Hazaribagh, Chatra, Koderma, Giridih, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Sahebganj, Pakur, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Bokaro, East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum, Khunti, Simdega, Gumla, Latehar, Palamu, Garhwa and Ranchi.
The campaign comes amid continuing concerns among recruitment aspirants over the functioning of competitive examinations and selection processes in the state.
Mahto said the initiative would provide a platform for candidates and young people to raise their concerns and demand corrective measures. The campaign will particularly focus on ensuring that recruitment examinations conducted by JPSC and JSSC are conducted in a fair, transparent and accountable manner.
Through the statewide mobilisation, Mahto aims to bring together aspirants from different districts and give a unified voice to their demands for comprehensive reforms in Jharkhand’s recruitment system.
