Ratnagiri, Sep 2026: Divisional Commissioner and Electoral Roll Observer Rubal Agarwal visited the Khed Tehsil Office, Panchayat Samiti office and polling stations to conduct a detailed review of the work being carried out under the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls campaign.
During the visit, Agarwal directed the administration to work promptly to ensure that voters do not face any inconvenience and that the draft electoral rolls are easily accessible to citizens for verification.
Agarwal visited various locations in Khed to assess the arrangements. At the Khed Tehsil Office, she closely inspected the draft electoral roll that had been published there. She also reviewed the functioning of the “Special Intensive Revision Programme 2026 Help Desk” established to assist citizens with the electoral roll revision process.
She subsequently visited four polling stations at L.P. English School and Junior College and inspected the draft electoral rolls available there. She instructed the officials concerned to display the draft electoral rolls prominently at the entrance or another easily accessible location so that citizens can conveniently check their names.
The Divisional Commissioner also visited the Khed Panchayat Samiti office and reviewed the process of publishing and displaying the electoral rolls. She interacted with the public representatives present during the visit and appealed to them to extend cooperation in encouraging voters to verify their names in the draft electoral rolls.
Agarwal emphasised the importance of ensuring that citizens have easy access to electoral roll information during the revision campaign. She directed officials to maintain proper arrangements and facilitate the participation of voters throughout the process.
The inspection was attended by District Collector Manuj Jindal, Sub-Divisional Officer Vaishali Patil, Khed Tehsildar Sudhir Sonawane and Dapoli Tehsildar Archana Bombe.
Khed Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Dr Afia Palekar, Zilla Parishad members Arun alias Anna Kadam and Sachin Dhadve were also present during the inspection tour.
The administration's review forms part of efforts to ensure transparency and efficiency in the electoral roll revision exercise and enable eligible voters to verify their details and raise corrections, if required.
