General Pande Unveils Cutting-Edge Healthcare: A Milestone for Armed Forces

General Manoj Pande, Chief of the Army Staff, achieved a significant milestone by inaugurating advanced healthcare facilities today. In a virtual ceremony, he unveiled the state-of-the-art Command Hospital Complex in Udhampur and expanded facilities at the Army Hospital Research & Referral (AHRR) in Delhi, strengthening medical infrastructure for defence personnel and their families.

At AHRR in Delhi Cantonment, General Pande inaugurated the Radiological Information & Digital Image Networking System and expanded the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) & Sports Medicine. Additionally, the 'Niramaya- Wellness Clinic' and 'Aasra -Patient Detention Centre' were introduced, emphasizing AHRR's premier status in armed forces healthcare.

The Command Hospital Complex in Udhampur, spanning 60 acres and constructed with an investment of Rs 274 Crore, was virtually inaugurated by General Pande. With 650 beds and modern medical facilities, including eight advanced operation theaters, the hospital is equipped to serve personnel in the challenging terrains of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Environmental sustainability is prioritized in the hospital's design, featuring efficient water management systems like an effluent treatment plant and central sewage treatment plant. This initiative underscores the army's commitment to eco-conscious practices alongside providing high-quality healthcare services.

Apart from medical amenities, the Command Hospital Complex includes administrative spaces, residential accommodations, training facilities, and welfare amenities, ensuring comprehensive support for personnel and their families.

Earlier this year, the army chief highlighted the completion of digitization efforts across all military hospitals and the networking of over 110 hospitals using Dhanwantari Software.
