Haryana Youth Meet CM Dhami, Share Experiences of Three-Day Uttarakhand Visit

Dehradun, Oct 2026 : Haryana youths who were on a three-day visit to Uttarakhand met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his official residence and shared their experiences of the state.

The youths appreciated the efforts being made in Uttarakhand in the areas of connectivity, homestays, tourism development, solar energy, development of border areas and welfare schemes.

The Haryana delegation said the three-day visit gave them an opportunity to closely understand different parts of Uttarakhand and observe how various government schemes are bringing changes to the lives of local residents. They noted that despite most of the state being mountainous, significant work has been undertaken to expand road and digital connectivity. They also appreciated the pace at which the railway network is being expanded.

The youths particularly praised Uttarakhand’s clean environment and good air quality. They said initiatives in the homestay sector, along with government support, are creating new self-employment opportunities for local residents. They also appreciated efforts by the Central and state governments to develop infrastructure and improve facilities for people living in border areas.

The Haryana youths said the facilities being developed for pilgrimage and tourism in Uttarakhand were clearly visible. Better connectivity and tourism infrastructure have contributed to an increase in the number of pilgrims and tourists visiting the state, they said. They also described the solar rooftop scheme as a useful initiative suited to Uttarakhand’s geographical conditions.

The visitors said Uttarakhand’s peaceful environment and the warmth shown by local residents had particularly impressed them. They said their visit gave them a genuine understanding of why Uttarakhand is known as Devbhoomi, or the “Land of the Gods”. Wherever they travelled, they received a sense of warmth and cooperation from local people, they said.

Welcoming the youths, Chief Minister Dhami said the tradition of “Atithi Devo Bhava” — treating guests as manifestations of God — is an integral part of Uttarakhand’s culture and traditions.

He said such inter-state visits provide young people with an opportunity to understand India’s cultural diversity, innovations being undertaken in different states and effective development practices. Such interactions also promote the exchange of ideas and experiences between states, he added.

Dhami said the state government was working to ensure that the benefits of development reach people at the last mile. In keeping with the principle of Antyodaya, various schemes are being implemented for the welfare of the poor, women, youth, farmers and other sections of society.

He said steps had also been taken to connect young people with employment and self-employment opportunities and to make government recruitment processes more transparent. Over the past nearly five years, around 35,000 youths have been appointed to government services, he said.

The Chief Minister said Uttarakhand was moving forward by balancing development with its heritage. Along with implementing the Uniform Civil Code, the state is giving special attention to women’s empowerment, self-employment, tourism, local products, homestays, solar energy and the development of border areas, he said.

Dhami urged the visiting youths to share what they had seen, understood and experienced during their three-day stay in Uttarakhand with their friends and through social media platforms, reaching the information to as many people as possible.

“You are also digital brand ambassadors of Uttarakhand,” he said, encouraging the youths to help showcase the state’s culture, tourism, pilgrimage destinations, local products, homestays, millets, handicrafts and the work being undertaken by women’s self-help groups across other parts of the country.

The Chief Minister said interactions among young people from different states help them understand India’s diversity while also providing an opportunity to learn from one another.

He called upon the youths to share their positive experiences of Uttarakhand with young people in Haryana and contribute to strengthening the exchange of culture, tourism, innovation and effective practices between the two states.
