Jaipur Police Launches ‘Know Your Police Beat’ QR Code Initiative to Improve Public Access

QR Codes to Provide Contact Details of Police Officials from Beat Officer to DCP

  • Initiative aims to strengthen coordination between the public and the police.

  • Scanning the QR code will provide contact details of officials ranging from the beat officer to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).

  • Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal launches the initiative; Mansarovar police station area to be covered in the first phase, followed by a phased rollout across Jaipur Police Commissionerate.

Jaipur, October 2026: Jaipur Police will install QR code-based beat awareness boards under the initiative ‘Know Your Police Beat’ to improve coordination between the public and the police and make information about beat police personnel and the officers responsible for each area easily accessible to citizens.

The initiative will enable residents to connect directly with the police in their respective areas, contact officials whenever required and obtain relevant police-related information conveniently.

As part of the initiative, Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal on Thursday inaugurated the QR code-based ‘Know Your Police Beat’ awareness boards at the Jaipur Police Commissionerate.

Mittal said a separate QR code had been assigned to each police beat and awareness boards had been designed accordingly. Between seven and 10 boards will be installed at suitable locations in every beat area so that as many citizens as possible can benefit from the facility.

The initiative will initially be implemented in the area under Mansarovar police station. Subsequently, the boards will be installed in a phased manner across all police station areas under the Jaipur Police Commissionerate, according to the respective beats.

QR Codes to Provide Details from Beat Officer to DCP

Mittal said scanning the unique QR code displayed on each board would provide details of the concerned police beat, the police station’s address, Google Maps location and contact numbers.

The information will also include the names and contact numbers of the concerned Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Additional DCP, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Station House Officer (SHO) and beat officer.

A key feature of the system is that the information will remain updated even when police officers are transferred or their postings change. Scanning the QR code will display the name and contact number of the newly posted officer.

This will help citizens access the latest contact details and avoid inconvenience caused by outdated information.

The initiative aims to make communication between the police and the public simpler, more accessible and more effective, while strengthening public participation and cooperation with the police.

Senior Police Officials Attend Launch

Senior officials present at the launch included Om Prakash, Special Commissioner of Police; Dr Ajay Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order); Pradeep Mohan Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic and Administration); Dr Rameshwar Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime); Yogesh Goyal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime); Rajarshi Raj, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South); and Anushtha Kalia, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters), along with other concerned officers.
