NEW DELHI, Aug 2026 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj has sought an appointment with the Lieutenant Governor (LG) to discuss the health, bicycle and rice procurement scams under the Rekha Gupta Government. He stated that he had previously written several letters seeking meetings on serious issues concerning the public, but the LG had not responded to any of them. The former Delhi minister asserted that since the LG’s salary and facilities are funded by taxpayers’ money, he cannot avoid meeting opposition leaders.
AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj said in a post on X,“We have sought an appointment with you to discuss three major scams that took place under your government: the health scam, the bicycle scam and the rice scam. We have written several letters to you in the past seeking meetings on extremely sensitive issues, but you did not even consider it necessary to respond to those requests. Meeting only people of your choice reflects your unprofessional attitude.
Saurabh Bharadwaj reminded the LG, “Your salary and all the facilities at Raj Niwas are paid for with taxpayers’ money. Therefore, you cannot avoid meeting opposition leaders by citing personal preferences. Giving opposition leaders an appointment is your professional duty.”
