Since its formation on November 1, 1956, Madhya Pradesh has achieved numerous milestones over the past seven decades. Endowed with abundant natural resources, rivers, forests, historical landmarks, revered religious sites, a vibrant tribal culture and industrious people, Madhya Pradesh is making a significant contribution to the nation's progress.
The city of Lord Shri Mahakal, Ujjain; the sacred flow of Maa Narmada; the world-renowned Sanchi Stupa; the magnificent architectural heritage of Khajuraho; the prehistoric legacy of Bhimbetka; and the glorious traditions of our tribal communities define our identity. This diversity is our greatest strength. Our endeavour today is to preserve this rich legacy while scaling new heights of development.
We are celebrating 2026 as the Krishak Kalyan Varsh. Reflecting this commitment, the central theme of this year's Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day celebrations is ‘Samriddh Kisan, Samriddh Pradesh’. We firmly believe that the prosperity of farmers leads to the prosperity of villages, and prosperous villages accelerate Madhya Pradesh's journey towards self-reliance. Madhya Pradesh is an agrarian state, and our farmers are the backbone of its economy. Enhancing farmers' income, making agriculture more remunerative and integrating modern technology into farming are among our foremost priorities. The state government is implementing several schemes and initiatives to advance farmer welfare.
We are expanding irrigation facilities, strengthening agricultural infrastructure and promoting natural farming, improved seeds, modern agricultural machinery, food processing and agro-based industries. By integrating horticulture, dairy production, fisheries and animal husbandry with agriculture, we are creating additional avenues of income for farmers. Our resolve is to ensure that farmers are not merely providers of food but also become economically self-reliant and prosperous. The prosperity of farmers is, in fact, the true foundation of Madhya Pradesh's prosperity.
Youth are the greatest strength of any state. The young people of Madhya Pradesh possess immense talent, dedication, energy and innovative potential. Our government is committed to providing them with better opportunities in education, skill development, employment and self-employment. It is essential to equip our youth with industry-oriented training, technical education and employment-focused skills in line with emerging requirements. We are also making concerted efforts to provide the sporting talent of Madhya Pradesh with opportunities to excel at national and international platforms. Modern sports grounds, training facilities and sports infrastructure will enable young people to hone their abilities and realise their potential. We want the youth of Madhya Pradesh not only to become job seekers but also successful entrepreneurs who generate employment and responsible leaders who contribute to society.
The vision of development remains incomplete without the active participation of women. Our government is continuously working to empower women economically, socially and educationally. Through self-help groups, self-employment initiatives, skill development programmes and women-led entrepreneurship, we are enabling women to move towards greater financial independence. Special attention is being given to women's safety, health, nutrition and education. We believe that when a woman becomes self-reliant, the entire family becomes empowered. Therefore, our resolve is to ensure that women are not merely beneficiaries of government schemes but active partners and leaders in the state's development journey.
The world is advancing rapidly through technology and innovation. Promoting a vibrant startup ecosystem is essential to transform the ideas of Madhya Pradesh's youth into successful enterprises. Our endeavour is to provide young entrepreneurs with proper guidance, training, investment opportunities and a conducive business environment. There is immense potential for startups in sectors such as agricultural technology, healthcare, education, tourism, information technology and manufacturing. We are moving forward with the vision of establishing Madhya Pradesh as a leading hub of innovation and entrepreneurship. Our goal is to ensure that the youth of the state not only progress through their innovative ideas but also create employment opportunities for others.
Education is the most effective instrument of social transformation. The concept of Sandeepani Schools is an important initiative towards providing quality education and a better learning environment to the children of Madhya Pradesh. These schools focus on modern educational facilities, qualified teachers, improved infrastructure and the holistic development of students. We want children in villages and cities alike to have equal access to excellent educational opportunities. Alongside academics, we are also encouraging values-based learning, sports, science, technology and creative activities. Today's students are the future builders of a developed Madhya Pradesh and a developed India.
An environment of peace and security is indispensable for development. Our government is committed to strengthening law and order and pursuing a zero-tolerance policy towards crime. Modernising the police force, using technology, effective crime control, and citizen safety remain our key priorities. We are giving special attention to protecting women, children, and vulnerable sections of society. Our objective is to build a Madhya Pradesh where every citizen can live without fear and investors and entrepreneurs can operate in a secure environment.
The true essence of good governance lies in providing citizens with simple, transparent and time-bound public services. The Mukhyamantri Jan Vishwas Abhiyan is an important initiative towards strengthening this commitment. We are working to simplify government procedures, reduce unnecessary administrative complexities and make public services more accessible. The purpose of the government is not to create difficulties for citizens but to resolve their problems. Public trust is the greatest asset of a democracy. Our resolve is to make the administration more accountable, responsive and citizen-centric.
Animal husbandry is an important pillar of Madhya Pradesh's rural economy. It is an effective means of increasing farmers' income and generating employment opportunities in rural areas. Promoting animal healthcare, treatment, vaccination, breed improvement, milk production and the conservation of indigenous cattle is among our priorities. Efforts are being made to strengthen the economic condition of livestock farmers by connecting them with modern technology and better facilities. We believe that promoting animal welfare and animal husbandry can provide fresh impetus to the rural economy.
Health is one of the most fundamental needs of any society. Our government is committed to ensuring quality, accessible and affordable healthcare for every citizen of the state. Special emphasis is being placed on expanding modern medical facilities in government hospitals, establishing medical colleges, ensuring the availability of specialist doctors, strengthening medical education and extending healthcare services to rural areas. Maternal and child healthcare, nutrition, disease prevention and health awareness are also among our key priorities. We aspire to develop a healthcare system in which no citizen has to face unnecessary difficulties in accessing quality medical treatment.
