Jaipur, October 2026 : Union Minister for Education, Food, and Consumer Affairs Pralhad Joshi and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma flagged off the 'Run for Unity' organised in Jaipur on the occasion of the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Speaking on the occasion, Pralhad Joshi stated that the 'Ek Bharat' (United India) we see today is a result of the historic contribution, efficient leadership, and tireless efforts of Sardar Patel, which can never be forgotten. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, work is underway to realise Sardar Patel's vision of 'Ek Bharat' as 'Shreshtha Bharat'.
The Union Minister noted that Sardar Patel created a unified India by bringing together more than 500 princely states. Furthermore, his contribution to the formation of Rajasthan must always be remembered, as it was he who made 'Greater Rajasthan' a reality on 30 March 1949. To pay a true tribute to Sardar Patel, the world’s tallest statue, the 'Statue of Unity', was established in Kevadia, Gujarat, serving as a symbol of his dedication to the nation and the resolve for unity. He urged the youth to visit the statue and draw inspiration from Sardar Patel’s life and ideals.
Different Languages and Traditions, Single National Identity
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma remarked that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel united and integrated the country through his firm determination, indomitable willpower, and foresight. Our languages and traditions may vary, but our national identity remains one. He stated that the Prime Minister believes a strong India, as envisioned by Sardar Patel, can be built with the cooperation of the youth.

Initiatives like Startup India and the Mudra Loan Scheme have transformed young individuals from job seekers into job creators. Similarly, through the Khelo India and Fit India movements, talent from rural areas and small hamlets is raising the tricolour high at the international level.
