Tech in Asia Conference 2026 in Singapore showcases Maharashtra’s startup and innovation vision on global platform
Mumbai, September 2026: “Let us innovate, promote incubation and collectively create a wider impact.” With this message, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis presented Maharashtra’s vision of innovation-driven development before the global community at the ‘Tech in Asia Conference 2026’ held in Singapore. Through the conference, he reiterated Maharashtra’s determination to build a $1 trillion economy.
More than 2,000 chief executive officers, global leaders, researchers, academics, technology experts and industry representatives from across Asia attended the conference.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis outlined Maharashtra’s broader development vision through a video message. Emphasising the development of Maharashtra’s economy as an “innovation-led economy”, he highlighted the state’s goal of taking its economy to $1 trillion through innovation.
He said the state government is committed to transforming Maharashtra into a leading innovation hub at both the national and global levels by bringing startups, research institutions, industries, educational institutions, investors and young innovators together through an empowered and inclusive ecosystem, while leveraging advanced technologies.
CEO of Maharashtra State Innovation Society Dr. Shrikant Patil Delivers Keynote Address
Dr. Shrikant Patil, Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra State Innovation Society, delivered the keynote address at the conference. He highlighted Maharashtra’s robust startup ecosystem, various initiatives being implemented for young entrepreneurs, incubation facilities, opportunities in the deep-tech sector and the state’s strategy to connect startups with global markets.
The conference also called for Maharashtra and various countries in Asia to promote innovation through mutual cooperation, strengthen incubation ecosystems and create a wider social and economic impact.
Dr. Patil said the state government is working to further strengthen Maharashtra’s identity as the “Startup Capital” of the country. He said various initiatives are being implemented to maintain the state’s leadership in emerging technology sectors such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, deepfake prevention technologies, fintech, cleantech, robotics and other advanced technologies.
Dr. Patil also highlighted the significant opportunities for collaboration between Maharashtra and Singapore in areas including startups, innovation, advanced technologies, incubation, investment, research and connecting businesses with global markets.
