Mayawati to Review BSP’s Organisational Preparedness for 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections

Lucknow, November 2026 : Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati will hold a meeting with senior party office-bearers and presidents of all 75 district units of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday to review organisational preparedness ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.

According to a statement issued by the BSP's Uttar Pradesh state office on Wednesday, the meeting will take place at the party's state headquarters on Mall Avenue in Lucknow from 11 am.

The discussions will focus on strengthening the party's organisational structure at the grassroots level, assessing election preparations and reviewing the progress made on directions issued by Mayawati during earlier meetings.

The BSP chief is also expected to issue fresh instructions regarding the selection of suitable candidates for the upcoming elections and strategies to expand the party's support base among different sections of society.

The meeting assumes significance as political parties across Uttar Pradesh have stepped up their preparations for the 2027 Assembly polls. Although the election schedule has not yet been announced, the elections are expected to take place early next year.

The BSP, which has traditionally drawn considerable support from Dalit communities, has reiterated its decision to contest the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections independently, without entering into an alliance with other political parties.

The meeting is expected to provide an opportunity for the party leadership to assess district-level preparations, strengthen coordination among office-bearers and set priorities for the electoral campaign.
