Yogi Adityanath Accuses Congress, INDIA Bloc of ‘Politics of Anarchy’ Ahead of BJP Padyatra in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur, November 2026 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday accused the Congress and the INDIA bloc of resorting to what he described as a “politics of anarchy” out of frustration over repeated electoral defeats. He said disrespecting the people's mandate reflected a lack of clarity, capacity and credibility among opposition leaders.

The Chief Minister made the remarks ahead of participating in the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy) padyatra in Gorakhpur, alongside BJP National President Nitin Nabin.

In a post on X, Yogi alleged that the Congress and the INDIA alliance, which he said were setting new records of electoral defeats, had turned their frustration into a campaign against democratic institutions.

"There is a complete lack of clarity, capacity, and credibility among their leaders. Disrespecting the mandate is the result of this very mindset," he said.

Calling for public awareness against what he termed anarchy, the Chief Minister said the padyatra was aimed at upholding democratic values and protecting the dignity of democracy.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP remained committed to safeguarding India's democratic system.

Meanwhile, Nitin Nabin is on an organisational visit to Gorakhpur, where he will lead the party's march and hold a series of meetings with senior functionaries and public representatives. The visit is also intended to review and strengthen the party's preparations for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

According to the programme schedule shared by the BJP National President's Office on X, Nabin will reach Gorakhpur on Wednesday morning. The padyatra is scheduled to begin at 12.10 pm from Maharana Pratap Inter College and conclude at Mata Kali Temple near the Sardar Patel statue.

Following the march, Nabin will meet members of the intellectual community at 3.30 pm at Annexy Bhawan in Taramandal. A separate meeting with public representatives is scheduled at the same venue at 5 pm.

The BJP has positioned the ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ campaign as an outreach programme centred on democratic values and public awareness, while the party leadership's meetings are expected to focus on organisational coordination and election preparedness.
