Raipur, August 2026: Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Laxmi Rajwade distributed various assistive devices and support materials to six persons with disabilities at the Joint District Office Complex in Balrampur on Friday.
During the programme, Minister Rajwade met the beneficiaries warmly and enquired about their well-being. She also discussed their health, daily needs and the difficulties they face in their everyday lives.
As part of the initiative, Dhaneshwar Soni of Sauni was provided with crutches, while Nishant Paikra of Bhanaura and Mahima Das of Badki Mahri received wheelchairs.
Similarly, Gaurishankar and Fanu Singh, both residents of Bhanaura, were provided with walking sticks, while Mamta Pal of Sauni received a smartphone.
The beneficiaries expressed happiness after receiving the assistive devices and thanked the government and administration for the support.
The equipment is expected to make mobility easier for the beneficiaries and help them perform their daily activities with greater independence and confidence.
Minister Rajwade said the state government is continuously working for the welfare of persons with disabilities and for their greater integration into mainstream society.
She emphasised that ensuring that government welfare schemes and assistive devices reach needy persons with disabilities remains a priority of the state government. She said such initiatives are aimed at improving accessibility, promoting self-reliance and enabling persons with disabilities to lead more independent lives.
