Amaravati, Oct 2026 : Andhra Pradesh Minister for Human Resources Development and Information Technology Nara Lokesh on Wednesday offered special prayers in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Venkatapalem temple in Amaravati, marking Modi’s completion of 25 years in public service at the head of government.
Lokesh said he performed the puja to commemorate Modi’s journey, which began with his appointment as Chief Minister of Gujarat in October 2001 and later saw him become Prime Minister of India.
“To mark the completion of 25 years of Mr. Modi's journey—which began as the Chief Minister of Gujarat—I performed special prayers in his name at the Venkatapalem temple in Amaravati,” Lokesh said in a post on social media platform X.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Working President said he prayed for Modi’s good health and long life, describing him as the “Modern Iron Man”. He also prayed for the successful realisation of Modi’s vision of building a “Viksit Bharat” or developed India.
Lokesh, the son of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, had earlier shared his views on Modi’s 25-year journey in executive leadership.
In his message, Lokesh said Modi’s journey from Gujarat to New Delhi had been marked by what he described as vision, decisive leadership and a sustained focus on India’s development.
“From Gujarat to New Delhi, PM Narendra Modi Ji's journey has been defined by vision, decisive leadership and an unwavering commitment to India's development,” Lokesh said.
He added that a generation of Indians had witnessed India becoming more confident, ambitious and prominent globally during Modi’s years in public life.
Lokesh also linked Modi’s leadership journey to the broader goal of building a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047. He said Modi’s ability to combine a broad vision with attention to detail and large-scale execution continued to inspire those working in public life.
“As we work towards 'Viksit Bharat 2047', his ability to think big, focus on detail and execute at scale continues to inspire all of us in public life,” he said, congratulating Modi on the milestone and wishing him many more years of service to the country.
Meanwhile, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also congratulated Modi on completing 25 years in executive office.
In a post on X, Jagan Mohan Reddy described the milestone as a significant chapter in public service and extended his greetings to the Prime Minister.
“A historic milestone in public service that should not go unnoticed. Heartiest greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji on completing 25 years of continuous public service, first as Chief Minister of Gujarat and then as Prime Minister of India. Wishing you the very best,” he said.
Modi began his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001, and served in the post until May 2014, before becoming Prime Minister following the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
