Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country has entered a new era of development and self-reliance. There is a clear difference between India before 2014 and India thereafter, with a new and transformed India emerging before the world. Madhya Pradesh is also moving ahead in step with this development journey. He was addressing the inauguration programme of two modern industrial units established in the Pithampur Industrial Area.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the new industrial units commencing operations today would further strengthen the flow of development and prosperity in the State. The Chief Minister inaugurated 2 state-of-the-art manufacturing units of Pratap Group—Corsis Industries and Walters Technologies—established at Smart Industrial Park in Pithampur, the State’s largest industrial city, with a combined investment of ₹850 crore. The units will create new employment opportunities for hundreds of youth. Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was also specially present at the programme.

MLA Smt. Neena Verma, Shri Nilesh Bharti, Pratap Group Chairman Shri Devendra Singh Shekhawat, Smt. Mankunwar, Dr. Jitendra Singh Shekhawat, Pratap Group Managing Director Shri Shakti Singh, Shri Mohan Shekhawat and Shri Prapanna, among others, were present.

Providing Employment to Youth is Government’s Top Priority

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the two newly inaugurated units would further strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s industrial capabilities in high-technology manufacturing and clean energy. He said creating maximum employment opportunities for youth and strengthening the economy are among the foremost requirements of the present time. India is the world’s youngest major nation, while Madhya Pradesh is also rich in youthful talent and energy. He said that Large-scale employment opportunities are essential to harness the potential of its youth. The Chief Minister said the establishment of industries based on modern technologies such as optical fibre and lithium batteries is an important step keeping future requirements in mind. These units, being established with German technological support, will emerge as centres of international-standard technology and production capabilities. They will also provide youth with training in modern technologies and open up new employment opportunities.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that adequate arrangements have been made to train youth at industrial units. Industrial activities have already begun to create possibilities for direct and indirect employment. The State Government is working to ensure that employment opportunities grow rapidly alongside investment, giving fresh momentum to economic prosperity in Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Pithampur receiving new industrial units for the second time within a month reflects the State Government’s efforts to accelerate employment generation. The investment climate in Madhya Pradesh is continuously improving, he said, adding that new industries will strengthen the State’s economy while creating extensive employment opportunities for youth. He congratulated the industrial group and everyone associated with the establishment of the new units, and extended his best wishes for their success. The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh would touch new heights of development with the expansion of its industrial sector. He said the new industrial units would create employment opportunities, promote modern technology and accelerate Madhya Pradesh’s progress towards economic prosperity.

These Units Symbolise India’s Changing Industrial Landscape: Union Minister Shri Shekhawat

Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said the inauguration of a battery storage plant and a core manufacturing unit for backward integration of optical fibre cables in Pithampur is a significant achievement for Madhya Pradesh’s industrial development. The two units represent an investment of around ₹850 crore. He said the inauguration was not merely of two factories, but a symbol of India’s rapidly changing industrial landscape and its resolve to build a self-reliant India.

Union Minister Shri Shekhawat said the battery storage plant would play an important role in meeting the country’s growing green-energy requirements, while the optical fibre unit would strengthen digital connectivity and communication infrastructure. Energy storage is one of the most important requirements of the present time, and the Pithampur facility is a significant step towards ensuring uninterrupted power supply. He said India’s manufacturing sector has undergone a major transformation over the past 12 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. India is now emerging as a strong player in global manufacturing and supply chains, while making remarkable strides in electronics and mobile phone manufacturing. The Union Minister said various initiatives of the group are currently providing direct and indirect employment to around 30,000 people. More than 2,000 youth are presently being trained at skill development centres established by the group, while efforts are underway to provide employment to around 5,000 youth in the coming period.

Union Minister Shri Shekhawat said Madhya Pradesh has immense potential for industrial development due to adequate power and water availability, raw materials, improved road and logistics infrastructure and investment-friendly policies. The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and improved expressway connectivity are helping establish the State as a major industrial hub of the country. The Union Minister appreciated the efforts being made under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav to promote investment and industries in Madhya Pradesh. He said the State is also progressing rapidly in tourism and hospitality. Initiatives undertaken to promote investment are attracting a large number of investment proposals.

Shri Shekhawat expressed confidence that the two Pithampur units would give fresh impetus to industrial development, employment generation, energy self-reliance and digital infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh, further strengthening the State’s important role in building a developed India.

Details of the New Industrial Units

At the beginning of the programme, Pratap Group Chairman Shri Devendra Singh Shekhawat gave details of the industrial units. He said Corsis Industries has established a state-of-the-art optical fibre manufacturing plant at Plot No. 98 in Pithampur. Spread over approximately 8,067 square metres, the plant has an annual production capacity of 5.5 million fibre kilometres. The unit has created around 300 new direct and indirect employment opportunities.

The optical fibre manufactured at the plant will be used in broadband connectivity, 5G networks, FTTH, data centres, smart cities, defence and other strategic communication infrastructure. The project will expand digital connectivity while furthering the goals of Digital India, Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. Walters Technologies Private Limited has established its plant over approximately 20,505 square metres, with a production capacity of 3 GWh. The facility is expected to generate around 250 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

The plant incorporates Industry 4.0-based automation and robotic assembly lines. The facility will cater to renewable energy integration, commercial and industrial applications, and India’s clean-energy transition.
