Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh Government is committed to farmers' welfare, enhancing their income and making agriculture more remunerative. Continuous efforts are being made to promote the adoption of modern agricultural technologies, encourage crop diversification and ensure better returns for farmers. He said that the government has fulfilled its promise to farmers by providing 10 hours of uninterrupted daytime power supply across the state for agricultural activities. The Chief Minister ddressed the Balram Krishi Mahotsav organised at the Simariya Mandi premises in Seoni district virtually from the Mantralaya on Monday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that uninterrupted electricity supply for 10 hours during the daytime for irrigation of Rabi crops would relieve farmers of the compulsion to irrigate their fields at night. Referring to paddy procurement, he said that the last date for registration has been extended to November 4 to facilitate farmers and provide the maximum number of eligible farmers an opportunity to sell their produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Necessary arrangements are being made to ensure that no eligible farmer is left out of the registration process.
Food Park to Be Established in Seoni
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the district's Jeera Shankar rice has earned a distinct identity for its unique aroma and taste. Seoni's jumbo custard apple, known for its large size and sweetness, is also emerging as a speciality of the district. The cultivation of crops such as tomatoes, chillies, flaxseed, mustard and sunflower also offers significant opportunities for farmers in the region.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a Food Park would soon be established in Seoni to facilitate local processing and value addition of agricultural produce, enabling farmers to obtain better prices for their crops. This would encourage agro-based industries and create new opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship at the local level. He also highlighted the significant role of the J ewanara Fish Seed Farm in strengthening farmers' livelihoods and the rural economy through fish seed production.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that 2026 is being observed as the Krishak Kalyan Varsh, with special emphasis on making agriculture more profitable and connecting farmers with additional sources of income. Along with traditional crops, the cultivation of pulses, oilseeds, horticultural and cash crops is being encouraged so that farmers can produce crops in accordance with market demand while reducing agricultural risks. He said that agriculture in the state is being expanded beyond traditional farming by linking it with horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries and food processing, thereby creating new income opportunities for farmers. Through their hard work, Madhya Pradesh is continuously achieving new milestones in the agricultural sector.
'Mukhyamantri Registry Yojana' to Provide Rural Residents with Legally Secure Property Rights
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the 'Mukhyamantri Registry Yojana' is an important initiative for people living in rural areas. Under the scheme, properties in rural inhabited areas are being surveyed, and eligible beneficiaries are being provided ownership records and registered property documents. Under this scheme, the state government will spend ₹10,000 crore from its own exchequer to provide legally registered ownership of their allotted properties to more than 60 lakh rural residents across Madhya Pradesh. With formal ownership rights, rural residents will be able to use their properties independently and, whenever required, obtain bank loans against them to expand their economic activities. This will strengthen the financial condition of rural families and create new avenues for development in villages. The Chief Minister said that the government-operated Sugam Bus Service has been restarted under the Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva. This will improve connectivity in rural areas and provide more accessible transportation facilities.
