New Delhi, Aug 2026 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday shared a glimpse of his daily morning routine, highlighting his special bond with peacocks and indigenous miniature cattle at his official residence in New Delhi.
Sharing videos on social media, PM Modi revealed moments from the morning of August 15, when he interacted with the birds and animals before leaving for the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort. According to the Prime Minister, the animals appeared to sense that he would be leaving earlier than usual and came to meet him before his departure.
In the video posted on Instagram, Modi can be seen feeding grains to peacocks during his morning walk and exercise session. He also spent time feeding and gently petting native and miniature cattle kept at his residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.
“Feeding my friends every morning is a daily routine. Yesterday morning, they somehow realised I'm leaving early so they came to meet me as I was leaving for the Red Fort. Special, as always!” Modi wrote while sharing the video.
Peacocks have frequently been seen accompanying the Prime Minister during his early morning walks and exercise sessions on the lawns of his residence. Images and videos of these interactions have often attracted public attention and gained significant traction on social media.
The Prime Minister’s residence also houses several indigenous and miniature cattle breeds, reflecting his interest in native livestock varieties. Among the breeds associated with his interactions is the miniature cattle breed from Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district.
The breed is regarded as one of the smallest humped cattle breeds in the world, with adult animals typically standing at around 70 to 90 centimetres in height. Such indigenous breeds are known for their adaptability and distinctive physical characteristics.
The latest video provided another personal glimpse into Modi’s routine away from his official engagements. His regular interactions with the peacocks and cattle have become a familiar feature of his morning schedule, offering a softer and more informal side of the Prime Minister’s public persona.
The Independence Day morning, however, carried special significance, as the Prime Minister had to leave early for the national celebrations at the Red Fort. His brief interaction with his “friends” before heading for the ceremony added a warm and personal touch to the occasion.
