State-level webinar-2 held at RIC

Special emphasis places on enrolment, academic quality, technology application, and de-siloization

11 schools brought laurels to the state in the National Clean and Green School Ratings

Jaipur, August 20226 : Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas chaired the state-level webinar-2 with the principals of PM Shri Schools at the RIC on Friday. During the webinar, the CS stated that PM Shri Schools are establishing their unique identity as ideal centres for quality and modern education in the state.

In the webinar, titled "Model of National Education Policy-2020: PM Shri Vidyalayas," institution heads from selected PM Shri Shools across the state and district and block-level education officers participated in person and virtually.

The Chief Secretary emphasised that students enrolment in these schools have increased, exam results have improved qualitatively, and technology has been effectively incorporated through digital dashboards and smart classrooms.He directed that regular dialogue with 10 institution heads be maintained every month, best practices be adopted state wide, and that D E O conduct regular field visits.

During the webinar, Additional Chief Secretary, Education, Rajesh Yadav, stated that education is the linchpin of the development of any nation and state. A strong education system is the foundation for the progress of developed countries and leading states in the country. The core concept of the PM Shri scheme is that these schools become centre of excellence in their respective areas, where teachers and institution heads from nearby schools can come and observe and learn innovations, teaching methods, and excellent management, and implement them in their own schools, strengthening the entire education system.

*Rajasthan shines in National Clean and Green School Ratings*

Eleven schools from the state have made the state proud by achieving a place in the national list of Clean and Green School Ratings released by the Union Ministry of Education, including three PM Shri schools. Among these, PM Shri Darbar Government Higher Secondary School, Sambhar Lake (Jaipur) is notable.This 122-year-old schoolunderwenta tremendous transformation.With the help of Bhamashas (philanthropists) development works worth Rs. 1.5 crore were carried out here. It achieved 14th place nationally with 93.70 points. Similarly, PM Shri Government Higher Secondary School, Babra (Beawar), achieved 23rd place with 93.50 points, thanks to its Food Safety and Standards Authority of India-certified Eat-Right School and solar-powered green campus. PM Shri Government Primary School, Parliya Ki Dhani (Kota), in an area dominated by Kalbelia and nomadic communities, achieved 51st place by achieving 100% retention of children, 100% enrolment in Balvatika, and e-content-based innovations, proving that despite limited resources, excellent results are possible with commitment.

*Innovations and achievements of institution heads showcased*

The webinar also showcased various innovations being undertaken by various schools. A student from PM Shri Mahatma Gandhi School, Town (Dungarpur), demonstrated the school's technological capabilities by participating in a national-level Pico Satellite and Space Technology workshop. Additionally, schools are directly connecting students to practical skills and employment through vocational education in areas such as tourism, hospitality, healthcare, beauty and wellness, and retail trades. While Bal Vatika is strengthening students' basic literacy, community support is being strengthened through alumni conferences and meetings of the School Management Committee and School Development Management Committee, which are providing new impetus to the overall development of schools.

During this meeting, State Project Director Dr. Rashmi Sharma stated that the "Baatcheet" program, a teacher-student dialogue initiative, has been initiated to improve the quality of education, understand school-level challenges, and develop practical solutions.

Senior officials from the School Education Council were present at the webinar. Chief District Education Officers, Additional District Project Coordinators, and Chief Block Education Officers from all districts of the state joined via video conferencing.
