District Panchayat CEO Inspects Centre Located on Medical College Campus, Directs Officials to Ensure Adequate Stock and Easy Access for Patients
Raigarh, Sept 2026: Prime Minister Jan Aushadhi Centres operating across the district are providing quality generic medicines to citizens at affordable prices. Many medicines available at these centres are priced around 50 to 90 per cent lower than their branded alternatives, providing significant financial relief to patients and their families by reducing the cost of treatment.
In addition to a wide range of essential generic medicines, the centres also stock surgical and other medical products. The availability of quality medicines at affordable prices is helping make healthcare services more accessible to the general public.
Following directions from Collector Mayank Chaturvedi, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Abhijeet Baban Pathare inspected the Prime Minister Jan Aushadhi Centre operating on the Medical College campus.
During the inspection, Pathare reviewed the availability and quantity of medicines at the centre, sales and arrangements to ensure that patients can access Jan Aushadhi medicines conveniently. He also assessed the measures being taken to provide patients with a smooth and hassle-free experience.
The District Panchayat CEO directed officials to ensure adequate stocks of essential medicines at the centre at all times. He emphasised that patients visiting the Medical College for treatment should be able to obtain the medicines they require promptly and conveniently.
Pathare also instructed officials to regularly monitor medicine availability and sales and take necessary measures to ensure that a larger number of patients benefit from the affordable medicines available through the Jan Aushadhi Centre.
He stressed the importance of maintaining adequate supplies of essential medicines so that patients do not face difficulties in obtaining prescribed drugs during their treatment.
During the inspection, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Anil Kumar Jagat, Medical College Dean Dr Santosh Kumar and District Programme Manager Ranjana Paikra were also present.
