Young Kathak dancer Vibhuti Sharma’s performance becomes the highlight of the third evening of Chakradhar Samaroh-2026
Raigarh, September 2026 : The third evening of the internationally acclaimed 41st Chakradhar Samaroh-2026 was made special by a captivating Kathak performance. Raigarh’s young Kathak dancer Vibhuti Sharma won widespread appreciation from the audience with her expressive and rhythmic presentation.
Vibhuti Sharma, a resident of Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, is a nationally recognised Kathak dancer. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kathak at Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh. Her passion for dance began in childhood. She completed a six-year diploma in Kathak from Chakradhar Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Raigarh.
For Vibhuti, Kathak is not merely a dance form but a medium of dedication, culture and self-identity.
National-Level Achievements
Vibhuti Sharma has earned several distinctions at the national level. In 2020, she participated in the All India Social Distancing Online National Dance Competition in the semi-classical junior category and won first prize.
In 2021, she participated in the junior category of the Kathak group at the 12th Cuttack Mahotsav and secured first position.
In 2022, she was honoured for her contribution to dance in the field of art and culture at the Shri Krishna Kala Sanskritik Mahotsav.
In addition, she had the honour of participating in a Guinness World Record event organised as part of the Khajuraho Dance Festival in 2024.
Her Kathak performance on the stage of Chakradhar Samaroh-2026 showcased the talent of Raigarh’s young artists as well as the rich tradition of Indian classical dance.
The audience enthusiastically applauded her performance, encouraging the young dancer with thunderous applause.
