New India Known for Strong Intent and Speed of Work, Says Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma

Jaipur, August 2026 : Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the new India is known for both its strong intent and the speed at which development works are being completed. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double-engine government not only lays the foundation stones of projects but also ensures their inauguration within the stipulated time, he said.
He was addressing a development works inauguration and foundation-stone laying ceremony held at Meghasar in Bikaner on Friday. Development projects worth nearly Rs 800 crore were inaugurated and foundation stones laid during the programme. These projects are expected to improve infrastructure, energy, healthcare, agriculture and transportation facilities in Bikaner district and make daily life easier for people.
The Chief Minister announced the upgradation of the Meghasar Sub-Health Centre into a Primary Health Centre, construction of a Trauma Centre and Sub-District Hospital in Dungargarh at a cost of Rs 25 crore, and establishment of a Mini Secretariat in Lunkaransar. He also announced the upgradation of the Government Primary School in Khajuwala into an upper-primary school.
Other announcements included construction of a bridge at Museum Circle in Bikaner, an Ayurvedic dispensary in Bikaner West, and repair and strengthening of the Euro Sciences building for Sardar Patel Medical College and its associated hospitals. Government primary schools were also announced at Chak 610-200 RD in front of Dudi Petrol Pump, Sattasar and Jeevan Singh Ki Dhani.
Statue of Veer Shiromani Megho Ji Unveiled
Chief Minister Sharma unveiled an ashtadhatu equestrian statue of Veer Shiromani Megho Ji, the founder of Meghasar. He said the statue would continue to inspire future generations to follow Megho Ji’s path of courage, valour and service to the nation.
Highlighting the government’s welfare initiatives, Sharma said the state was working for the upliftment of every section of society under the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. The annual assistance under the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi has been increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000 for farmers in Rajasthan. Farmers have also received subsidies of more than Rs 61,000 crore on electricity bills.
Under the Rajasthan Cooperative Gopal Credit Card Loan Scheme, livestock owners are being provided interest-free loans of up to Rs 1 lakh. More than 23 lakh insurance policies have also been issued under the Chief Minister Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana.
The Chief Minister said the government had constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to curb paper leaks and protect the future of young people. As a result, those found guilty have been sent behind bars and examinations are now being conducted without paper leaks. More than 1.78 lakh appointments have been made so far, while recruitment processes for over 1.32 lakh posts are underway. Preparations are also being made for recruitment to more than 70,000 additional posts.
He added that 14 lakh bicycles and 46,000 scooters have been distributed in the state to promote girls’ education.
Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) Arjun Ram Meghwal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is to build a developed India where prosperity, development and national unity remain paramount. He said Rajasthan was achieving new milestones in development under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
74 Development Works Worth Rs 664 Crore Inaugurated
A total of 74 development works worth Rs 664 crore were inaugurated. These included:
- 47 solar power plants under Components A and C of the PM-KUSUM scheme, costing more than Rs 371 crore.
- Widening and renovation of roads from MDR Palana to Khajuwala, Bhurasar to Ballar and Pugal Road to Makeri, costing Rs 105 crore.
- 132 KV GSS Hadda and transmission line, costing more than Rs 24 crore.
- Development works at the Agriculture Produce Market Committee in Bikaner, costing more than Rs 15 crore.
- A new building for the Community Health Centre at Mukam, costing more than Rs 5 crore.
- Marudhara Botanical Garden at Bichhwal, costing Rs 5 crore.
- Buildings for sub-health centres at Bhanipura, 2 ADM, Santosh Nagar, Asera, Runiya Bada Bas, Kotasar and Dusarna Pipasar, costing Rs 4 crore.
Foundation Stones Laid for 16 Projects Worth Rs 143 Crore
Foundation stones were laid for 16 development projects worth Rs 143 crore, including:
- 220 KV GSS and transmission line at Sheruna, costing Rs 98 crore.
- New office building of the Bikaner Development Authority, costing more than Rs 36 crore.
- Sub-health centre buildings at Gajsukhdesar, Bagseu, Leelka, Ratadia, Bidasariya, Jakhasar Naya, Raner and Mithadiya, costing Rs 4.5 crore.
- Internal CC roads and drainage construction at the Agriculture Produce Market Committee, Bikaner.
- Office buildings for Assistant Directors of Agriculture (Extension) in Shri Dungargarh and Nokha.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, Jaswant Bishnoi, Chairman of the Animal Welfare Board, Ram Gopal Suthar, Chairman of the Vishwakarma Welfare Board, MLAs Dr Vishwanath Meghwal, Anshuman Singh Bhati and Jethanand Vyas, Tarachand Saraswat and other public representatives, along with a large number of citizens, attended the programme.
