Statewide Special Campaign to Run Throughout September as Directed by DGP; Public to be Educated on Preventing Online Fraud and Cybercrimes

Jaipur, Sept 2026: The Rajasthan Police will observe September as ‘Cyber Safe Rajasthan’ Awareness Month as part of a state-wide public awareness campaign. The special initiative, being conducted under the directions of Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, aims to educate citizens about ways to prevent cybercrime, promote cybersecurity measures and alert people against online fraud and digital scams.
According to Additional Director General of Police, Cyber Crime, Vijay Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police-1 (R4C) has been appointed as the state nodal officer for the successful implementation of the campaign. At the district level, officers of the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police have been designated as nodal officers.
Special Focus on Senior Citizens and Pensioners
As part of the campaign, cybercrime officials at police stations, in coordination with the Pension Department, will conduct special awareness programmes for pensioners and senior citizens.
They will be educated about threats such as ‘digital arrest’ scams, investment fraud and other forms of cybercrime, along with measures to protect themselves from such offences.
Awareness Programmes in Schools and Colleges
In coordination with district collectors and district education officers, lectures, workshops, quizzes, seminars and various competitions will be organised in schools, colleges and universities.
Students will also participate in a one-day human chain to spread the message of cybersecurity.
Street Plays at Markets and Public Places
Street plays, posters, audio-visual messages and cyber awareness stalls will be organised at major public places, markets, bus stands, railway stations, metro stations, religious sites and tourist destinations.
These activities will provide citizens with information on cybercrime prevention and safe online practices.
Youth and Sports Activities to be Integrated
Cyber volunteers, NSS and NCC cadets will also be involved in the campaign.
In coordination with RAC units and district sports officers, activities such as runs and bicycle rallies will be organised to spread awareness about cybersecurity among young people and the wider public.
Cybersecurity Message to Reach Every Village
The state police will take the campaign to rural areas by organising cyber awareness activities up to the Gram Panchayat level, in coordination with the Chief Postmaster of the district and the Panchayati Raj Department.
Extensive Publicity Through Social and Traditional Media
During the campaign, video appeals will be issued through local social media influencers as well as personalities from the sports and film industries.
Cybersecurity messages in Hindi and regional languages will also be broadcast through local FM stations, television channels, cinema halls, private cable television networks and digital displays installed in markets.
The campaign is aimed at creating widespread awareness among citizens and encouraging safe and responsible use of digital platforms across Rajasthan.
