Chief Minister visits incident site to take stock of rescue operation, all concerned agencies working in coordination
CM Rekha Gupta visits AIIMS Trauma Centre to take stock of treatment of injured, directs doctors to ensure all necessary medical assistance

New Delhi, September 2026 : Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta has expressed deep concern over the extremely tragic building collapse at Satya Niketan Colony, located in the South Campus of Delhi University. As soon as she was informed of the incident, the Chief Minister remained in constant touch with all concerned officials, took updates on the situation and directed them to provide all possible assistance to those affected.
The Chief Minister herself reached the incident site at Satya Niketan and monitored the rescue operation along with all concerned officials. She directed that every possible effort be made to safely rescue those trapped in the debris and that there be no lapse in the relief and rescue operations. The Chief Minister also visited the AIIMS Trauma Centre to take an update on the treatment of the injured.
Teams from the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), NDRF, Delhi Fire Services, Delhi Police, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), CATS and Civil Defence are engaged in rescue operations at the site. All concerned agencies are carrying out relief and rescue operations on a war footing in close coordination with one another. As a precautionary measure, the building adjacent to the incident site has been evacuated. The administration is fully focused on safely rescuing those trapped and providing immediate assistance to the affected families.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta continues to remain in constant touch with the Regional District Magistrate, Delhi Police, NDRF and officials of the concerned departments. She has directed all officials to provide all possible assistance to the affected people and their families. The Chief Minister also spoke to local MP Ms Bansuri Swaraj and R. K. Puram MLA Shri Anil Sharma to take an update on the situation at the site and the rescue operation. Both also reached the incident site.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the AIIMS Trauma Centre to take an update on the treatment and health condition of the students and other people injured in the extremely tragic incident. She spoke to doctors there and took an update on the condition and treatment of the injured students.
All the injured are under the care of doctors at AIIMS and their treatment is underway. The Chief Minister directed the medical team to ensure all necessary medical assistance for the treatment of the injured. The Delhi government is in touch with the families of the injured students and is providing them the necessary support. The Chief Minister wished all the injured students a speedy recovery.
Directions for strict action against those responsible
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has made it clear that no one responsible for the Satya Niketan incident will be spared. She said that strict action would be taken against any officials found responsible. She has also directed that an FIR be registered against the owner of the house.
The Chief Minister said that the immediate priority at this time is to continue the rescue operation on a war footing, safely rescue those trapped and provide the necessary medical assistance to the injured. The safety and health of every citizen remain the Delhi government’s highest priority.
