Administrative approval of Rs 1 crore 65 lakh 85 thousand granted
Raipur, November 2026 : An important initiative has been taken to improve road connectivity in Gram Panchayat Khalbahara, located in the Odgi development block of Surajpur district. Following the efforts of Women and Child Development Minister and Bhatgaon MLA, Laxmi Rajwade, the construction of a 1.50-km-long road from Khalbahara Main Road to the Panchayat Bhawan, including bridges and culverts, has been approved. The Public Works Department has granted administrative approval of Rs 1 crore 65 lakh 85 thousand for the project.
The construction of this road will make it easier for villagers to reach the Panchayat Bhawan, which serves as an important local centre for various public services, activities and meetings. Improved road connectivity will facilitate travel to the building and make daily commuting more convenient for residents of the area. The project also includes the construction of bridges and culverts, which will further strengthen road connectivity.
The state government has granted the approval under a project included in the 2025-26 Budget. According to the approval order, the prescribed procedures, including technical sanction and the tendering process, will be completed before the commencement of construction. The work will also be carried out on government land and within the limits of the available budget.
Expansion of road connectivity in rural areas plays an important role in improving local transportation and access to public facilities. The approved construction work in Khalbahara is a significant step in this direction. Once completed, the project will provide villagers with a better road to access the Panchayat Bhawan.
