Appointment Letters Distributed to 2,027 Successful Candidates of 70th BPSC Examination
Patna, Aug 2026: Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday distributed appointment letters to 2,027 successful candidates of the 70th Combined Competitive Examination conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) at Bapu Sabhagar. Congratulating the newly appointed officials, the Chief Minister described the occasion as a historic milestone in their lives. He said that the simultaneous distribution of appointment letters to such a large number of candidates was a new record.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that public service is not merely a job but a pathway to serving society and working for public welfare. He said the newly appointed officials would play an important role in opening new avenues of progress for people across the state.
“You must work with complete honesty, dedication and sensitivity. The faster you work with this spirit, the faster Bihar will move forward,” the Chief Minister said. He stressed that building a Developed India and Prosperous Bihar requires the collective efforts of the government, society and every citizen. The role of young people in Bihar's development is extremely important, and the newly appointed officials will be significant participants in this development journey.
12 Lakh Government Jobs Created Between 2020 and 2025
Chief Minister Choudhary said that between 2020 and 2025, around 12 lakh government jobs were provided in Bihar, while more than 50 lakh employment opportunities were created. He said the state government has set a target of providing jobs and employment opportunities to one crore young people between 2025 and 2030.
The government is continuously working to create maximum opportunities for employment and self-employment for the youth, he said.
He also highlighted the growth in Bihar's budget, which has increased to Rs 3.47 lakh crore. To accelerate urban development, 12 new townships will be developed, with large-scale investments planned in these areas. The government will also adopt the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in various sectors to give fresh momentum to Bihar's overall development.
Focus on Industrialisation and New-Age Sectors
The Chief Minister said industrialisation is being given special priority in Bihar. Along with developing the state as a steel hub, the government is focusing on important sectors such as semiconductors, nuclear energy and food processing.
Investment in these sectors will generate large-scale employment opportunities and strengthen the state's economy, he said.
Choudhary also said that people are benefiting from improved roads and infrastructure across the state. Better road connectivity has significantly reduced travel time, with Patna now accessible from Bodh Gaya in around one-and-a-half hours, he said.
Serve People with Honesty and Commitment
The Chief Minister urged the newly appointed officials to discharge their responsibilities with complete honesty and dedication. He said the government has introduced the Sahyog Programme to ensure that people's grievances are resolved within the prescribed period of 30 days.
“The fundamental objective of every person entering government service should be to serve the people, earn their trust and continuously work for Bihar's progress by becoming a true servant of the people,” he said.
He emphasised that government officials must remain sensitive to people's problems and ensure that public services reach citizens efficiently and transparently.
The Chief Minister said Bihar's development journey would gain further momentum when government employees work with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment. He urged the newly appointed officials to consider themselves partners in the state's transformation rather than merely government employees.
Youth at the Centre of Bihar's Development
Choudhary underlined the crucial role of young people in Bihar's transformation. He said the state government is working to provide better employment, education, infrastructure and industrial opportunities so that Bihar's youth can contribute to the state's economic growth.
The Chief Minister said the government's vision is to create an environment where young people can pursue both employment and entrepreneurship. He expressed confidence that the newly appointed officers would contribute significantly to achieving the state's development objectives.

Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar, Chief Minister's Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, General Administration Department Secretary Mohammad Sohail, senior Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of various departments, Patna District Magistrate Kundan Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K. Sharma, successful candidates and their family members were also present.
The Chief Minister congratulated all the newly appointed officials and urged them to dedicate themselves to public service and to the larger goal of building a stronger, more prosperous and developed Bihar.
