Applicants urged to complete pending documentation for caste validity certificates by October 17
Mumbai, Sept 2026 : The District Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committee, Mumbai City, has launched a special drive under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to address deficiencies in pending applications for caste validity certificates. The campaign will continue until October 17, 2026.
Committee Chairman and Deputy Commissioner Dhananjay Nikam, member Salima Tadvi, and Research Officer and Member Secretary Sunita Mate have appealed to students, employees working in government and semi-government services and other eligible applicants to take maximum benefit of the initiative.
Caste validity certificates are required for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Vimukta Jatis, Nomadic Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Special Backward Classes while seeking admission to professional courses during the 2026-27 academic year.
Against this backdrop, the special campaign has been organised to enable applicants to rectify deficiencies in pending proposals and facilitate their early disposal.
Applicants whose proposals have deficiencies, including missing documents or other required information, have been asked to approach the District Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committee, Mumbai City, for completing the necessary requirements.
The office is located at Panchsheel M-1, Ground Floor, Siddharth Housing Society, Matunga Labour Camp, Valmiki Road, Matunga, Mumbai – 400019.
The committee has also appealed to students belonging to the backward classes who have not yet submitted applications for caste validity certificates to complete the process online.
Applicants can submit their applications through the official BARTI Caste Validity portal at www.bartievalidity.maharashtra.gov.in.
The committee has urged eligible applicants to make use of the special drive within the stipulated period so that deficiencies in pending cases can be addressed and caste validity certificate applications can be processed without further delay.
