Jaipur, August 2026 : The Rajasthan Police’s month-long special campaign, being conducted across the state since July 20 on the directions of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, has highlighted the state government’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime.
Under the direction of Rajasthan Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma, intensive and stringent action has been taken over the past 20 days against hardcore criminals, drug traffickers, cyber criminals, illegal arms holders and those violating traffic rules across all police ranges and commissionerates. The objective of the campaign is to further strengthen law and order and reinforce the sense of security and confidence among the general public.
More than 2,000 actions against organised and hardcore criminals
During the special campaign, 2,067 hardcore criminals were identified across the state and a total of 2,085 actions were taken against them under various legal provisions. The police arrested 1,624 hardcore criminals and also carried out preventive action at several locations, effectively curbing criminal activities. The action against organised crime has proved highly effective and will continue.
1,158 drug traffickers arrested
During this period, the Rajasthan Police launched a decisive crackdown on the illegal drug trade, registering 848 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and arresting 1,158 accused. During the campaign, significant action was taken across various ranges to seize narcotic substances and dismantle trafficking networks. Greater focus was placed on commercial quantities and major drug traffickers. In addition, 319 cases related to illegal weapons were registered, legal action was taken against the offenders and 396 criminals were arrested.
Action against cyber criminals and criminal networks
During the campaign, effective action against cybercrime resulted in the arrest of 624 accused so far. An amount of Rs 8,24,15,336 was placed on hold in connection with cybercrime cases, while Rs 2,91,63,333 was recovered and returned to victims. The campaign against cybercrime continues through monitoring cyber hotspots, keeping watch on suspicious activities and taking action against other specialised crimes. In the fight against illegal mining, action was taken in 650 cases, resulting in arrests.
Checkpoints and traffic campaign keep criminals under watch
Extensive checkpoints were established across the state, with action taken at 9,663 locations and 7,04,594 vehicles inspected. Strict action was taken against traffic rule violations, with 2,32,058 actions initiated under the Motor Vehicles Act. These included action against 16,874 people for drunk driving, 1,74,904 for riding or driving without helmets, 13,832 for not wearing seat belts, 12,241 for using dark window films and 19,213 vehicle owners for overloading. Effective action was also taken in 2,59,806 cases involving other traffic violations. Similarly, action was taken against 1,13,651 persons for overspeeding and against 10,226 persons under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Special focus on women’s safety and public participation
Women’s safety was included among the campaign’s key priorities, with effective action taken in 2,835 cases and awareness campaigns conducted at 7,545 locations. To further strengthen trust between the police and society, 1,060 Community Liaison Group meetings were organised across the state. During these meetings, police officials interacted with local residents, public representatives and prominent citizens and discussed issues related to law and order and social harmony.
Police ranges take effective action
All police ranges and commissionerates took effective action during the campaign. The Ajmer Range carried out 841 actions against hardcore criminals and arrested 609 of them. Similarly, the Udaipur Range arrested 316 hardcore criminals, the Jaipur Commissionerate arrested 206 and the Bharatpur Range arrested 205. The Bikaner Range registered 206 NDPS cases and arrested 273 drug traffickers. The Bharatpur Range took 95 actions against illegal weapons during this period. The Bikaner Range registered 703 cases related to women’s safety. The Jaipur Range demonstrated its active efforts against cybercrime by registering 139 cases and arresting 158 criminals. The Bikaner Range took 2,464 actions under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma said the Rajasthan Police is committed to maintaining law and order in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and to effectively curbing organised crime, drug trafficking, cybercrime and crimes against women. He said the police are implementing the state government’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime.
He added that the special campaign against criminals would continue so that fear of the law among offenders is strengthened and the sense of security and confidence among the general public is further enhanced.
