Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said the service, welfare and happiness of workers are the government’s foremost priorities. He said, “Our workers are laying the foundation of a prosperous Madhya Pradesh with their blood, sweat and hard work, adding one brick at a time. It is the government’s duty to address workers’ difficulties under all circumstances.” The Chief Minister said that when a worker’s family faces a crisis, loses its breadwinner prematurely or encounters a sudden financial emergency, others may abandon them, but the government will never leave them alone.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Mukhyamantri Sambal Yojana 2.0 provides financial support to workers during difficult times. He was addressing workers across the state through video conferencing from the Chief Minister’s residence on Monday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav transferred ₹203 crore in ex-gratia assistance through a single click on the last Monday of Sawan, ahead of Raksha Bandhan, to eligible beneficiaries under the 11th instalment of the Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan (Sambal) 2.0 scheme implemented by the Labour Department.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the assistance would bring happiness to the families of 9,149 Sambal beneficiaries across the state. He said that the Sambal scheme has provided support to more than 1.84 crore workers in Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister said, “When all avenues seem closed during difficult times, the government still stands with workers. This assistance provides significant relief in times of grief. Having money in one’s pocket gives people the confidence to face many hardships.” He said that the state government is clearing the backlog and ensuring uninterrupted financial assistance to beneficiaries of Sambal and other departmental schemes. The Chief Minister also extended his greetings to worker beneficiaries connected through video conferencing from various districts on the last Monday of Sawan and ahead of Raksha Bandhan.
No Compromise on Workers’ Dignity and Safety
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is giving special priority to workers' dignity and safety. He said Madhya Pradesh has become the first state in the country to implement the ‘Shram Shakti Sanhita’. The government has also introduced ‘Shram Star Rating’ to ensure that there is no compromise on workers’ dignity and safety. He said that the government wants to help workers refine their skills and progress through hard work. To connect workers with cooperatives and make them self-reliant, the government has launched the ‘Shramana’ scheme.
Antyodaya Is Our Government’s Commitment
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the nature of work is changing with changing times. Young people in the state are now finding employment through apps and online platforms. Keeping their economic security in mind, the government has also brought gig and platform workers under Sambal Yojana 2.0. He said that healthcare is one of the biggest concerns for poor families, and Sambal beneficiaries have therefore also been linked with the Ayushman Bharat Niramayam Yojana. The Chief Minister added that the government is also taking care of the educational expenses of children of eligible workers pursuing medicine, law, engineering and polytechnic courses.
Pregnant Women Workers to Receive ₹16,000 Assistance
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that women workers covered under the Sambal scheme no longer need to worry about financial difficulties during pregnancy, enabling better nutrition for both mother and child. The state government provides ₹16,000 in financial assistance to eligible pregnant women workers. He said that assistance is also provided to workers who suffer temporary or permanent disabilities, ensuring that they do not face a livelihood crisis. Under the Sambal scheme, ₹1 lakh is provided in cases of partial permanent disability and ₹2 lakh for permanent disability.
Panchayat and Rural Development and Labour Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel participated in the programme virtually. He said that the state government is committed to clearing the backlog of Sambal beneficiaries. With the 11th instalment, payments have now been made up to January 1, 2026. Minister Shri Patel said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the state’s sensitive and people-centric government stands firmly with every poor person and worker.
Assistance Provided
The beneficiaries covered under the 11th instalment of Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan (Sambal) Yojana 2.0 include 8,027 beneficiaries of ex-gratia assistance for natural death, 1,034 beneficiaries for accidental death, 66 beneficiaries for partial permanent disability and 22 beneficiaries for permanent disability. Under the Sambal scheme, eligible workers receive ₹5,000 for funeral assistance, ₹2 lakh in case of natural death, ₹4 lakh in case of accidental death, ₹1 lakh for partial permanent disability and ₹2 lakh for permanent disability. The assistance is provided to the concerned beneficiaries or their nearest family members. Labour Secretary Smt. Rani Batad and other departmental officials were also present at the assistance distribution programme.
